The effectiveness of educational intervention programs for the prevention of HIV and STIs in healthy adolescents in primary health care(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-09-22) Merlin Contreras, Dzhámilia Gaby; Aguilar Rueda, Edith Nancy; Matta Solis, Hernán HugoObjective: Systematize evidence on the effectiveness of educational intervention programs for the prevention of HIV and STIs in healthy adolescents in primary health care. Materials and methods: This research is quantitative, descriptive in nature. The methodological design is cross-sectional, non-experimental. The population consisted of 128 students from the first cycle, morning shift, of the Nursing School at UPNW 2020 - I. The data collection instrument used for the first variable was a questionnaire on the level of knowledge for the prevention of STIs, where each correct answer was worth 1 point, while an incorrect answer was worth 0 points. For the second variable, attitudes, a Likert scale with 15 items was used, along with five levels of response intensity (Strongly agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, and Strongly disagree). Each level was assigned a score of 5, 4, 2, 3, and 1, respectively. If a positive behavior was indicated by a negative result, an inverse scoring method was applied. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge about STIs, of the 100% (n=128) of the surveyed students, 53% had medium knowledge, 24.6% had high knowledge, and 15.4% had low knowledge. Regarding attitudes toward risky sexual behaviors, among the nursing students of the 1st cycle at the Nursing School of Norbert Wiener Private University, it was found that the Neutral" attitude was the most prevalent, with 64.8%, followed by a slight tendency toward rejection at 26.6%, and acceptance at 8.6%.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections and risky sexual behavior in obstetrics students at the Norbert Wiener Private University-2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-01-19) Gutti Rodriguez, Caterine Yurubi; Benites Vidal, Elvira SoledadThe research aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and risky sexual behavior among obstetrics students at the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener - 2023. A quantitative, basic approach was adopted, using a hypothetical-deductive method with an observational, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional research design, analyzing a sample of 103 students. The survey was used as the technique and the questionnaire as the study instrument. The results reveal a correlation between the level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and risky sexual behavior in students. The Spearman correlation coefficient obtained was 0.321 with a significance level of 0.001 (bilateral), indicating a positive, low-magnitude correlation between these variables. Since the p-value (0.001) is considerably lower than the established significance level (α = 0.05), the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, thus validating the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge about STIs and risky sexual behavior in these university students from Lima. This correlation suggests that an increase in the level of knowledge about STIs is related, to some extent, to a better attitude towards risky sexual behavior in this group of university students in Lima.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections and the practice of preventive measures in adolescents of the district of San Martin de Porres, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-23) Fernandez Vasquez, Marianela Eloyza; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaThe general objective of this research study was to infer how the level of knowledge of sexually transmitted infections is related to the practice of preventive measures in adolescents in the district of San Martín de Porres, 2023. Its method was hypotheticaldeductive, quantitative approach, correlational, applied and non-experimental design. The population of this study was made up of 200 adolescents from the Palao Urbanization of the San Martin de Porres district, 2023, with the sample being 132 by means of formula. The results showed that the adolescents have a high level of 17.42%, a medium level of 80.30% and a low level of 2.27% of knowledge; This indicates that the majority has knowledge about the topic, but at an intermediate level, that is, some terms are not very clear and may generate doubts at times. Likewise, it is evident in the findings that there is a positive relationship between the variables under study, with a degree of correlation (r = 0.745), which is of a high level. It is concluded that the level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections considerably influences the practice of preventive measures that adolescents have; However, it was observed that the majority know about the subject, but in a very general way, which does not allow them to have an appropriate degree of awareness about the risk they run when starting their sexual life at such a young age.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about sexually transmitted infections and the practice of preventive measures in adolescents of the district of San Martin de Porres, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-23) Fernandez Vasquez, Marianela Eloyza; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaThe general objective of this research study was to infer how the level of knowledge of sexually transmitted infections is related to the practice of preventive measures in adolescents in the district of San Martín de Porres, 2023. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a quarter of the global adult population engages in little physical activity (PA), increasing the risk of death by 20% to 30% worldwide. For this reason, physical activity plays an important role in preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Behavioral factors such as smoking, poor diet, excessive alcohol consumption, and low PA levels, followed by physiological factors like hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and high blood glucose levels, contribute to this situation. NCDs account for 71% of deaths worldwide, with 15 million deaths annually in individuals aged 30 to 70. According to WHO, more than 1.9 billion adults aged 18 and over suffer from overweight, with 39% of men and 40% of women affected, including 11% of men and 15% of women who are obese. Therefore, physical activity is essential as it provides significant health benefits, which should be performed regularly, with appropriate frequency, duration, and intensity, to improve physical performance and lifestyle. Objectives: To determine the relationship between physical activity and lifestyle in university students. Materials and Methods: This will be a scientific study involving 100 undergraduate students of both genders from the Faculty of Health Sciences at a private university in Lima. The research will be based on a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative-descriptive approach of a correlational type. The study will use two instruments: the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) to measure physical activity and the Lifestyle Questionnaire for University Students (CEVJU-R) to assess lifestyle, covering eight dimensions: physical activity, leisure time, nutrition, alcohol consumption, smoking, illegal drug use, sleep, interpersonal relationships, coping, and perceived emotional state. The questionnaire's scoring will be calculated by summing the values from each dimension, with results compared to a midpoint indicating healthy or unhealthy practices.Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between knowledge and attitude of sex workers towards sexuall y transmitted infections in times of pandemic in the province of barranca, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-08-13) Ramírez Calderón, Milagros Marianela; Marín Guevara, Leticia GloriaObjective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge and attitude of sex workers regarding sexually transmitted infections during the pandemic in Barranca province, 2021.
