Autoestima y dependencia emocional en estudiantes de 4° y 5° de secundaria de un centro educativo del Callao, 2024

Abstract

Se tuvo por objetivo determinar la relación entre autoestima y dependencia emocional en estudiantes de secundaria del Callao. Para ello se eligió un diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional, tipo básico y corte transversal; se seleccionó a un grupo de 219 estudiantes de cuarto y quinto de secundaria, y se evaluó empleando la Escala de autoestima de Rosenberg y el Cuestionario de dependencia emocional de Lemos y Londoño, ambos adaptados al contexto peruano. Los hallazgos revelaron que la autoestima y la dependencia emocional presentaron una correlación significativa de intensidad baja e inversa (rho=-0.35; p<0.05); asimismo, la autoestima positiva se correlacionó de manera baja e inversa con la ansiedad por separación (rho=-0.89; p<0.05) y miedo a la soledad (rho=-0.91; p<0.05); mientras que la autoestima negativa se correlacionó de manera baja y directa con la ansiedad por separación (rho=0.30; p<0.05) y miedo a la soledad (rho=0.34; p<0.05). A partir de esto, se concluyó que, si los estudiantes tienen una autoestima alta, serán menos dependientes emocionalmente de sus parejas.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and emotional dependence in secondary school students from Callao. A non-experimental, correlational-level, basic-type, and cross-sectional design was chosen. A group of 219 fourth- and fifth-year secondary school students were selected and assessed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Lemos and Londoño Emotional Dependence Questionnaire, both adapted to the Peruvian context. The findings revealed that self-esteem and emotional dependence presented a significant, low and inverse correlation (rho=-0.35; p<0.05); likewise, positive self-esteem was weakly and inversely correlated with separation anxiety (rho=-0.89; p<0.05) and fear of loneliness (rho=-0.91; p<0.05); While negative self-esteem was strongly and directly correlated with separation anxiety (rho=0.30; p<0.05) and fear of loneliness (rho=0.34; p<0.05). From this, it was concluded that if students have high self esteem, they will be less emotionally dependent on their partners.
