Comparación del efecto antifúngico del extracto etanólico Erythroxylum novogranatense var. Truxillense, Erythroxylum coca var. coca y Eucalyptus globulus frente a Candida albicans, estudio in vitro – 2024

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo general evaluar el efecto antifúngico del extracto con etanol Erythroxylum novogranatense var. Truxillense, Erythroxylum coca var. coca y Eucalyptus globulus frente a Candida albicans, estudio in vitro - 2024. Se usó un diseño metodológico hipotético-deductivo y experimental, con un enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 75 placas Petri sembradas con C. albicans. Para recolectar los datos, se utilizó una ficha de observación para redactar los datos que se obtenía del experimento. En la parte experimental, se realizaron las extracciones, que tuvieron una concentración del 100% y fueron combinadas en una proporción de 1:1. Se utilizaron entonces las placas Petri sembradas para realizar un antibiograma, poniendo sobre a superficie tres posillos de antibiograma impregnados con 30 μL del extracto etanólico, junto con controles positivo (nistatina) y negativo (suero fisiológico). Las placas se incubaron durante 48 horas a 37 °C, tras lo cual se procedió a medir las zonas inhibitorias empleando una regla vernier digital. Este proceso se repitió en 5 ocasiones. Se demostró que los tres extractos de estas plantas y su mezcla tenían un efecto antifúngico que inhibía el hongo C. albicans en diferentes medidas, con el E. globulus siendo la que tiene mayor efecto antifúngico entre las tres y Erythroxylum coca y Erythroxylum novogranatense tenían un efecto similar.

The present study had the general objective of evaluating the antifungal effect of the ethanolic extract Erythroxylum novogranatense var. Truxillense, Erythroxylum coca var. coca and Eucalyptus globulus against Candida albicans, in vitro study - 2024. A hypothetical-deductive and experimental methodological design was used, with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 75 Petri dishes seeded with C. albicans. To collect the data, an observation sheet was used to write down the data obtained from the experiment. In the experimental part, the extractions were carried out, which had a concentration of 100% and were combined in a 1:1 ratio. The seeded Petri dishes were then used to perform an antibiogram, placing on the surface three antibiogram wells impregnated with 30 μL of the ethanolic extract, together with positive (nystatin) and negative (physiological serum) controls. The plates were incubated for 48 hours at 37 °C, after which the inhibitory zones were measured using a digital vernier ruler. This process was repeated on 5 occasions. The three extracts of these plants and their mixture were shown to have an antifungal effect that inhibited the fungus C. albicans to different extents, with E. globulus having the greatest antifungal effect among the three and Erythroxylum coca and Erythroxylum novogranatense having a similar effect.
