Revisión crítica: efecto de la dieta sobre el exceso de peso en la prevención de la enfermedad renal crónica

Abstract

El tratamiento nutricional en pacientes con obesidad y enfermedad renal se enfoca en modificar los hábitos dietéticos, mediante una dieta controlada en proteínas, sodio y grasas, para reducir el peso corporal y frenar la progresión del daño renal, mejorando así el pronóstico y la calidad de vida. La pregunta de investigación fue: "¿Cuáles son los efectos de la dieta sobre el exceso de peso en la prevención de la ERC?". Utilizando el método NuBE, se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en bases de datos como SCIELO, PUBMED y BVS, seleccionando 10 estudios mediante la herramienta CASPE. El estudio principal escogido obtuvo “AI” como nivel de evidencia con grado de recomendación “fuerte”. Sin embargo, el análisis crítico concluyó que la calidad de la evidencia es baja y aún no permite establecer recomendaciones dietéticas específicas que demuestren que el manejo dietético sobre el exceso de peso exhiba efectos significativos sobre la prevención de la ERC.

Nutritional treatment in patients with obesity and kidney disease focuses on modifying dietary habits, through a diet controlled in proteins, sodium and fats, to reduce body weight and slow down the progression of kidney damage, thus improving prognosis and quality of life. The research question was, "What are the effects of diet on excess weight in preventing CKD?" Using the NuBE method, a systematic search was carried out in databases such as SCIELO, PUBMED and BVS, selecting 10 studies using the CASPE tool. The main study chosen obtained "AI" as the level of evidence with a "strong" recommendation grade. However, the critical analysis concluded that the quality of the evidence is low and does not yet allow for specific dietary recommendations to be established to demonstrate that dietary management of excess weight exhibits significant effects on the prevention of CKD.
