Conocimiento y práctica sobre la lactancia materna en madres de niños menores de seis meses de edad, que se atienden en el centro materno infantil Los Sureños, Puente Piedra 2024

Abstract

El trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre los conocimientos y prácticas sobre la lactancia materna en madres de niños menores de seis meses de edad, que se atienden en el centro materno infantil Los Sureños, Puente Piedra 2024. La metodología se compuso de un método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de estudio aplicado, alcance correlacional y diseño no experimental. Además, se aplicaron dos cuestionarios a 85 madres de menores de 6 años de dicho centro materno, siendo un muestreo censal. En cuanto a los resultados, se encontró que existe relación en ambas variables (rho= 0.512) al relacionar las dimensiones del conocimiento con la variable práctica: conocimiento de definición (rho= 0.480), conocimientos de beneficios (rho= 0.540) y conocimientos de las técnicas de amamantamiento (rho= 0.434). Por lo cual, se concluye que, a mayores niveles de conocimiento de las madres sobre lactancia materna, mayores serán las prácticas.

The work aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice regarding breastfeeding in mothers of children under six months of age, who are cared for at the Los Sureños Maternal and Child Center, Puente Piedra 2024." The methodology consisted of a hypothetical-deductive method, a quantitative approach, an applied study type, a correlational scope, and a non-experimental design. In addition, two questionnaires were administered to 85 mothers of children under six years of age at said maternity center, using a census sample. Regarding the results, a relationship was found in both variables (rho = 0.512) when relating the dimensions of knowledge with the practice variable: knowledge of definition (rho = 0.480), knowledge of benefits (rho = 0.540), and knowledge of techniques breast-feeding (rho = 0.434). Therefore, it is concluded that the higher the mothers' levels of knowledge about breastfeeding, the more effective their practices will be.
