| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Enterobiasis and anemia are frequent public health problems in children, especially schoolchildren exposed to poor hygiene and sanitation conditions. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between enterobiasis, diagnosed using the Graham technique, and anemia in schoolchildren aged 6 to 9 years at the Pangoa Adventist Educational Center in Junín, Peru, during 2026. A quantitative, basic, nonexperimental, cross-sectional, correlational design was used. The sample consisted of 110 schoolchildren. The Graham technique was used to diagnose enterobiasis, and hemoglobin levels were determined using a portable hemoglobinometer to assess anemia. Statistical processing was performed using STATA 19.5 with Pearson's chi-squared test, Student's t-test, Spearman's correlation, and the Mann-Whitney U test, considering a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed a prevalence of enterobiasis of 27.3% and anemia of 45.5%. No significant differences were found in hemoglobin levels according to sex (p = 0.923), but a weak positive correlation was observed between hemoglobin and age (rho = 0.22; p = 0.019). Significant differences in hemoglobin levels were also identified according to enterobiasis (p < 0.001), as well as a significant association between enterobiasis, anemia, and hematocrit (p < 0.001). A statistically significant relationship was found between enterobiasis diagnosed using the Graham technique and anemia in the schoolchildren evaluated. | en_US |
