Efectividad del uso de Selenicereus undatus y Aloe barbadensis Miller en el tratamiento del estreñimiento en los consumidores del mercado San Francisco de Villa María del triunfo, Lima - 2024

Abstract

La sábila (Aloe barbadensis Miller) y la pitahaya (Selenicereus undatus) poseen propiedades laxantes y anti inflamatorias que promueven un tránsito intestinal saludable y contribuyen a la salud del sistema digestivo. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la efectividad del uso de sábila y pitahaya en el tratamiento del estreñimiento en los consumidores del mercado San Francisco de Villa María del Triunfo. Lima - 2024. Se llevó a cabo una investigación de tipo básica, utilizando el método hipotético deductivo y un enfoque cuantitativo. El diseño de la investigación fue no experimental y de corte transversal. La muestra seleccionada para el estudio estuvo compuesta por 133 consumidores de dicho mercado. Se obtuvo como resultado que un alto porcentaje de los encuestados consume tanto pitahaya como sábila, con un 70.7% consumiendo ambas plantas, mientras que un porcentaje significativamente menor, 28.3%, no las consume juntas. En cuanto a lasformas de consumo, se destaca ambos productos en la cocina, destacando especialmente su uso en repostería, donde el 24.1% consume pitahaya y el 34.6% consume sábila. Además, se evidencia problema relacionado al consumo en el tratamiento del estreñimiento el 30.1% por la pitahaya, frente al 42.1% que reconoce problemas gastrointestinales asociados con la sábila. Se concluyó que el uso de Pitahaya y Sábila en el tratamiento del estreñimiento en los consumidores del mercado San Francisco de Villa María del Triunfo es efectivo.

Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) and dragon fruit (Selenicereus undatus) have laxative and anti-inflammatory properties that promote healthy intestinal transit and contribute to the health of the digestive system. The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of aloe vera and pitahaya in the treatment of constipation in consumers of the San Francisco market in Villa María del Triunfo. Lima - 2024. A basic research was carried out, using the hypothetical deductive method and a quantitative approach. The research design was non-experimental and cross-sectional. The sample selected for the study was made up of 133 consumers from said market. The result was that a high percentage of respondents consume both dragon fruit and aloe vera, with 70.7% consuming both plants, while a significantly lower percentage, 28.3%, do not consume them together. Regarding the forms of consumption, both products stand out in the kitchen, especially highlighting their use in baking, where 24.1% consume dragon fruit and 34.6% consume aloe vera. In addition, a problem related to consumption in the treatment of constipation is evident in 30.1% with dragon fruit, compared to 42.1% who recognize gastrointestinal problems associated with aloe vera. It was concluded that the use of Pitahaya and Aloe Vera in the treatment of constipation in consumers of the San Francisco market in Villa María del Triunfo is effective.
