Autoestima y habilidades sociales en estudiantes de secundaria de un centro educativo de Barranca, Lima – 2024

Abstract

Esta investigación se enmarcó dentro del objetivo de evaluar la relación entre la autoestima y habilidades sociales en estudiantes de secundaria de un centro educativo de Barranca. Este estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional y corte transversal; en este sentido se encuestaron a 250 estudiantes varones o mujeres de nivel secundario de una institución educativa de Barranca, mediante la Escala de autoestima de Rosenberg y la Escala de habilidades sociales de Herrera. Entre los resultados se encontraron que, la autoestima y las habilidades sociales se correlacionaron significativamente en intensidad débil y positiva (rho=0.195; p<0.05), de la misma forma entre la autoestima positiva y las habilidades sociales (rho=0.233; p<0.05); sin embargo, la autoestima negativa no se relacionó con las habilidades sociales (rho=-0.015; p>0.05). Se concluyó que la presencia de una mayor autoestima en los estudiantes adolescentes incurrirá en mejores habilidades sociales.

This research was framed within the objective of evaluating the relationship between self esteem and social skills in high school students from an educational center in Barranca. This study had a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, correlational level and cross-sectional; in this sense, 250 male or female high school students from an educational institution in Barranca were surveyed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Herrera Social Skills Scale. Among the results, it was found that self-esteem and social skills were significantly correlated in weak and positive intensity (rho=0.195; p<0.05), in the same way between positive self-esteem and social skills (rho=0.233; p<0.05); however, negative self-esteem was not related to social skills (rho=-0.015; p>0.05). It was concluded that the presence of higher self-esteem in adolescent students will incur better social skills.
