Eficacia del clareamiento de tres colutorios blanqueadores en dientes bovinos sometidos a una sustancia cromógena en Lima – Perú. Estudio in vitro, 2022

Abstract

Los colutorios blanqueadores comercializados actualmente buscan ofrecer un efecto blanqueador en un corto periodo de tiempo; sin embargo, el uso de estos colutorios sin la supervisión profesional puede generar alteraciones en la coloración dental e inclusive ocasionar daños en la estructura dental. Objetivo: Determinar la eficacia del clareamiento de tres colutorios blanqueadores en dientes bovinos sometidos a una sustancia cromógena en Lima -Perú, estudio in vitro 2022. Metodología: Estudio de tipo experimental, in vitro y prospectivo. Se recolectaron 56 dientes bovinos incisivos permanentes y los colutorios blanqueadores: Listerine Whitening Extreme (LW), Colgate Luminous White (CL) y Tottus Enjuague Bucal Blanqueador (TB). Se sumergieron todos los dientes bovinos en una sustancia cromógena (disolvente de café instantáneo Nescafé) por un periodo de 48 horas. Se realizó un registro inicial del color de las muestras pigmentadas con un espectofotómetro VITA EasyShade® del laboratorio “Dent Import”. Las muestras fueron distribuidas aleatoriamente en cuatro grupos de 14 unidades para cada colutorio: Grupo 1 (LW), Grupo 2 (CL), Grupo 3 (TB) y un grupo control expuesto en agua destilada. Se sumergieron en 60 ml de cada colutorio durante un minuto dos veces al día. El registro del color post inmersión se realizó a los siete días, catorce y treinta días. Resultados: Estadísticamente el colutorio Tottus Enjuague Bucal Blanqueador genero mayor efecto blanqueador en los dientes bovinos, seguido del Colgate Luminous White después de los siete y catorce días (p<0.05). Sin embargo, el Listerine Whitening Extreme no generó ningún efecto blanqueador (p>0.05). Conclusión: La eficacia del clareamiento de solo dos colutorios blanqueadores (TB y CL) lograron eliminar manchas extrínsecas frente a sustancias cromógenas como el café.

The whitening mouthwashes currently marketed seek to offer a whitening effect in a short period of time; However, the use of these mouthwashes without professional supervision can cause alterations in tooth color and even cause damage to the dental structure. Objective: Determine the effectiveness of the whitening of three whitening mouthwashes in bovine teeth subjected to a chromogenic substance in Lima - Peru, in vitro study 2022. Methodology: Experimental, in vitro and prospective study. 56 permanent bovine incisor teeth and the whitening mouthwashes were collected: Listerine Whitening Extreme (LW), Colgate Luminous White (CL) and Tottus Whitening Mouthwash (TB). All bovine teeth were immersed in a chromogenic substance (Nescafé instant coffee solvent) for a period of 48 hours. An initial registration of the color of the pigmented samples was carried out with a VITA EasyShade® spectrophotometer from the “Dent Import” laboratory. The samples were randomly distributed in four groups of 14 units for each mouthwash: Group 1 (LW), Group 2 (CL), Group 3 (TB) and a control group exposed in distilled water. They were immersed in 60 ml of each mouthwash for one minute twice a day. The post immersion color recording was carried out after seven, fourteen and thirty days. Results: Statistically, the Tottus Whitening Mouthwash mouthwash generated the greatest whitening effect on bovine teeth, followed by Colgate Luminous White after seven and fourteen days (p<0.05). However, Listerine Whitening Extreme did not generate any whitening effect (p>0.05). Conclusion: The whitening effectiveness of only two whitening mouthwashes (TB and CL) managed to eliminate extrinsic stains against chromogenic substances such as coffee.
