El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar si existen diferencias de hipersensibilidad dental post aclaramiento con Whiteness HP Maxx al 35% en comparación a Polaoffice+ al 37,5% en pacientes de un consultorio odontológico de Lima 2023. El diseño de este estudio fue hipotético - deductivo, experimental, de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicado, corte transversal y prospectivo con una muestra de 30 pacientes, divididos en 02 grupos de 15 participantes aleatoriamente, empleando como agentes aclaradores Whiteness HP Maxx al 35%, y Polaoffice+ al 37,5%, en la arcada superior e inferior. La medición de la hipersensibilidad dentaria se evaluó antes y después del aclaramiento dental a través de pruebas de hipersensibilidad dental (espontáneo, frío, caliente, dulce y ácido), con un intervalo de 05 minutos por prueba, las respuestas de los participantes se registraron en una hoja de recolección de datos con la ayuda de la Escala Visual Analógica (EVA), validada por juicio de expertos, con valores de concordancia mayor a 0,7. Los resultados muestran que existen diferencias de hipersensibilidad dental post aclaramiento con Whiteness HP Maxx al 35% en comparación a Polaoffice+ al 37,5%, siendo significativa (p < 0.05) en la arcada superior (al frío) y en la arcada inferior (al calor y ácido). Ambos agentes aclaradores mostraron una mayor hipersensibilidad dental al frío. Se concluye que el agente aclarador Whiteness HP Maxx al 35% ocasiona mayor hipersensibilidad dental, reportando en todos los casos dolor leve.
Resumen
The objective of the present study was to determine if there are differences in dental hypersensitivity after whitening with Whiteness HP Maxx 35% compared to Polaoffice + 37.5% in patients from a dental office in Lima 2023. The design of this study was hypothetical - deductive, experimental, quantitative approach, applied type, cross-sectional and prospective with a sample of 30 patients, divided into 02 groups of 15 participants randomly, using as whitening agents Whiteness HP Maxx 35%, and Polaoffice + 37.5%, in the upper and lower arches. Dental hypersensitivity was assessed before and after tooth whitening by means of dental hypersensitivity tests (spontaneous, cold, hot, sweet and acid), with an interval of 05 minutes per test. The participants' responses were recorded on a data collection sheet with the help of the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), validated by expert judgment, with concordance values greater than 0.7. The results show that there are differences in dental hypersensitivity after whitening with Whiteness HP Maxx at 35% compared to Polaoffice+ at 37.5%, being significant (p < 0.05) in the upper arch (to cold) and in the lower arch (to heat and acid). Both whitening agents showed greater dental hypersensitivity to cold. It is concluded that the 35% Whiteness HP Maxx whitening agent causes greater dental hypersensitivity, reporting mild pain in all cases.
