Inteligencia emocional y agresividad en estudiantes de educación secundaria de una institución educativa estatal de Pisco, 2025

Abstract

El estudio ejecutado tuvo como objetivo identificar la relación entre inteligencia emocional y agresividad en estudiantes de educación secundaria de una institución educativa estatal de Pisco - 2025. Por consiguiente, se empleó el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básica, nivel correlacional y diseño no experimental, donde la muestra estuvo conformada por 146 estudiantes del 3ero al 5to año de secundaria del colegio estatal Miguel Grau Seminario. Se empleó el inventario de inteligencia emocional Bar-On y el cuestionario de agresividad de Buss y Perry. En cuanto a los resultados, se evidenció que no existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre la inteligencia emocional y la agresividad total en los estudiantes evaluados, determinado bajo un valor p=0,080>0,05. De igual forma, no se halló relación significativa entre inteligencia emocional y las dimensiones agresividad física (p=0,269), agresividad verbal (p=0,351) e ira (p=0,085) todas ellas con un p-valor mayor a 0,05. No obstante, se identificó una correlación inversa y muy baja entre inteligencia emocional y la dimensión hostilidad (p=0,029<0,05; Rho=-0,181), lo que sugiere que a mayor nivel de inteligencia emocional, menor tendencia a pensamientos o actitudes hostiles. Se concluye que, en esta población, la inteligencia emocional no constituye un factor determinante de la agresividad, lo que evidencia la influencia posible de otros factores contextuales y psicosociales.

The study carried out had the objective of identifying the relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressiveness in secondary school students of a state educational institution in Pisco - 2025. Therefore, the hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, basic type, correlational level and non-experimental design were used, where the sample consisted of 146 students from 3rd to 5th year of secondary school from the Miguel Grau Seminario state school. The Bar-On emotional intelligence inventory and the Buss and Perry aggressiveness questionnaire were used. Regarding the results, it was shown that there is no statistically significant relationship between emotional intelligence and total aggressiveness in the students evaluated, determined under a p value = 0.080> 0.05. Similarly, no significant relationship was found between emotional intelligence and the dimensions of physical aggression (p=0.269), verbal aggression (p=0.351) and anger (p=0.085), all of them with a p-value greater than 0.05. However, a very low inverse correlation was identified between emotional intelligence and the hostility dimension (p=0.029<0.05; Rho=-0.181), suggesting that the higher the level of emotional intelligence, the lower the tendency toward hostile thoughts or attitudes. It is concluded that, in this population, emotional intelligence is not a determining factor of aggression, which demonstrates the possible influence of other contextual and psychosocial factors.
