Fuerza de miembros inferiores y fragilidad en los adultos mayores del centro Medic Therapy, Comas 2025

Abstract

El envejecimiento es una etapa de la vida que comienza alrededor de los 60 años y se caracteriza por diversos cambios en los sistemas corporales. Se estima que para el 2050, la población de adultos mayores alcanzará aproximadamente 2 mil millones. Este proceso avanza rápidamente y suele estar ligado al deterioro físico, incluyendo la disminución de la masa muscular y el declive de la fuerza. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la fuerza de miembros inferiores y la fragilidad en los adultos mayores del centro Medic Therapy, Comas 2025. Material y métodos: Tipo de investigación aplicada; diseño no experimental, método hipotético - deductivo y transversal; enfoque cuantitativo; la población estará compuesta por 142 adultos mayores que asisten al Centro Medic Therapy. Resultados la edad promedio fue 70,34 años con peso de 82,00 Kg destacando en mayor número de participación masculina (54,30%), en consiguiente la fuerza de miembros inferiores sobresalió un grado de fuerza regular (48,6%) por su parte el promedio de fragilidad fue pre frágil (41,0%), además se halló una correlación (-0,422) entre ambos constructos, en cuanto a su componente bueno fue (-0,494), regular ( 0,365) y malo (0,611). Conclusión existe relación entre fuerza de miembros inferiores y fragilidad en los adultos mayores del centro Medic Therapy.

Aging is a life stage that begins around age 60 and is characterized by various changes in bodily systems. It is estimated that by 2050, the older adult population will reach approximately 2 billion. This process proceeds rapidly and is often linked to physical deterioration, including decreased muscle mass and declining strength. Objective: To determine the relationship between lower limb strength and frailty in older adults at the Medic Therapy Center, Comas 2025. Materials and methods: Applied research; non-experimental design; hypothetical deductive and cross-sectional method; quantitative approach; the population will be composed of 142 older adults attending the Medic Therapy Center. Results the average age was 70.34 years with weight of 82.00 Kg standing out in greater number of male participation (54.30%), consequently the strength of lower limbs stood out a regular degree of strength (48.6%) on the other hand the average of fragility was pre fragile (41.0%), in addition a correlation was found (-0.422) between both constructs, as for its good component it was (-0.494), regular (-0.365) and bad (0.611). Conclusion there is an association between strength of lower limbs and fragility in older adults at the Medic Therapy center.
