Autoestima y tolerancia a la frustración en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de San Juan de Lurigancho, 2025

Abstract

El objetivo de estudio es identificar la relación entre autoestima y tolerancia a la frustración en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de San Juan de Lurigancho, 2025. El método fue hipotético-deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, tipología básica, con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y nivel correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 206 estudiantes de tercero, cuarto y quinto de secundaria, mediante un muestreo por conveniencia. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó el Inventario de Autoestima de Coopersmith (SEI) y la escala de Tolerancia a la frustración. En los resultados se observa que la mayoría de participantes son de sexo masculino (55.8%). Dados los hallazgos en nivel de autoestima la mayoría presentaron un nivel promedio alto de Autoestima (69.4%). En tolerancia a la frustración la mayoría presentaron un nivel entre Alto y Medio de Tolerancia a la Frustración (47.1%). Se concluyo, existe una relación estadísticamente significativa, positiva, y de magnitud muy baja entre autoestima y tolerancia a la frustración en los estudiantes evaluados. The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between self-esteem and frustration tolerance in secondary school students at a public educational institution in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2025. The method was hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, basic typology, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The sample consisted of 206 third-, fourth-, and fifth-year secondary school students, selected through convenience sampling. Data was collected using the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (SEI) and the Frustration Tolerance Scale. The results show that the majority of participants were male (55.8%). Regarding self-esteem, most students presented a high average level of self-esteem (69.4%). In terms of frustration tolerance, most presented a high to medium level (47.1%). The study concluded that there is a statistically significant, positive, and very weak relationship between self-esteem and frustration tolerance in the students evaluated. (p= .008, is less than .05; rho= .185).
