Introducción: El autocuidado en el paciente anciano incluye no sólo la responsabilidad y la autonomía, sino también las actitudes y el mantenimiento de conductas que conduzcan a una gestión óptima de su vida, para ello es importante tener conocimientos, desarrollar habilidades e incluso tomar decisiones diarias para modificar su estilo de vida. El estudio tuvo como Objetivo general: Determinar la relación existente entre el conocimiento y autocuidado de los pacientes adulto mayor con diabetes tipo II del servicio de Medicina del Hospital Nacional Lima - 2024. Materiales y Métodos: presente proyecto de investigación es de método deductivo enfoque cuantitativo, observacional, correlacional de estudio transversal. se considera a todos los pacientes del servicio de Medicina A del 5to del Hospital Nacional siendo un total de 44 pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 los cuales participara en el presente estudio que viene a ser el total de la población. como instrumento se utilizará la encuesta para determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre la diabetes mellitus tipo II, Para establecer la confiabilidad de los cuestionarios, se aplicó la prueba estadística de fiabilidad de Kruder Richardson (KR 20) para la variable Conocimiento sobre Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, arrojando un valor de 0.67.
Resumen
Introduction: Self-care in the elderly patient includes not only responsibility and autonomy, but also the attitudes and maintenance of behaviors that lead to optimal management of their life. For this, it is important to have knowledge, develop skills and even make daily decisions. to modify your lifestyle. General objective: of the study was: To determine the relationship between the knowledge and self-care of older adult patients with type II diabetes of the Medicine service of the National Hospital Lima - 2024. Materials and Methods: this research project is a deductive method with a quantitative approach., observational, correlational cross-sectional study. All patients from the Medicine A service of the 5th of the National Hospital are considered, with a total of 44 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who will participate in the present study, which is the total population. As an instrument, the survey will be used to determine the level of knowledge about type II diabetes mellitus. To establish the reliability of the questionnaires, the Kruder Richardson statistical reliability test (KR 20) was applied to the variable Knowledge about type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. , yielding a value of 0.67.
