Violencia familiar y autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública, de Puente Piedra, 2025

Abstract

La presente investigación se llevó a cabo con el objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre la violencia familiar y autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de Puente Piedra, 2025. Con una muestra de 265 alumnos, pertenecientes a una dirección policial al distrito de Puente Piedra. El estudio fue de tipo básico, diseño no experimental y corte transversal, haciendo uso de la Escala de violencia familiar (EVF) y la Escala de autoestima (EAR). Los análisis reportaron que, la violencia familiar posee una relación inversa, moderada y significativa con la autoestima (r= -.501; p <.001); tendencia que también se obtuvo en la correlación por dimensiones; evidenciando la relación más fuerte con la dimensión de violencia física (r=-.434; p <.001) y, siendo más débil con el componente de violencia por negligencia (r= -.381; p <.001). Concluyendo que, aquellos adolescentes que están expuestos a situaciones de maltrato familiar, independientemente de la modalidad en que se lleve a cabo, conlleva a una menor autoestima.

This research was conducted with the general objective of determining the relationship between family violence and self-esteem in secondary school students at a public educational institution in Puente Piedra, 2025. The sample consisted of 265 students (99 males and 166 females) aged 12 to 17 years, from a police station in the Puente Piedra district. The study was basic, non-experimental, and cross-sectional, using the Family Violence Scale (EVF) and the Self-Esteem Scale (EAR). The analyses reported that family violence has a moderate and significant inverse relationship with self-esteem (r = -.501; p < .001); a trend also observed in the correlation by dimensions, showing the strongest relationship with the physical violence dimension (r = -.434; p < .001) and the weakest with the neglect component (r = -.381; p < .001). In conclusion, adolescents exposed to domestic abuse, regardless of the form it takes, experience lower self-esteem.
