Efectividad del taller educativo “Decide y protégete” en estudiantes de nivel superior de Lima, 2025

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad del taller educativo “Decide y protégete” en el conocimiento sobre el uso del condón en estudiantes de nivel superior de Lima, 2026. Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo, aplicado, de diseño preexperimental con un solo grupo y medición pretest–postest. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario de 15 ítems sobre conocimiento del uso del condón; se aplicó antes y después del taller. El análisis incluyó estadística descriptiva y prueba de Wilcoxon para muestras relacionadas (IC 95%). Resultados: Participaron 80 estudiantes. Predominaron los grupos de 18–19 años y >25 años (36,3% cada uno), estado civil soltero(a) (90,0%), religión católica (67,5%) y ocupación con trabajo dependiente (47,5%) o estudia y trabaja (45,0%). Antes del taller, prevaleció el conocimiento medio (60,0%), seguido de alto (36,3%) y bajo (3,7%). Después de la intervención, el conocimiento alto aumentó a 87,5%, mientras que el nivel medio disminuyó a 11,3% y el bajo a 1,2%. El puntaje promedio se incrementó de 9,1 ± 2,4 (pretest) a 12,8 ± 1,9 (postest), con diferencia estadísticamente significativa (p < 0,001). Conclusión: El taller “Decide y protégete” fue efectivo, logrando una mejora significativa del conocimiento sobre el uso del condón en estudiantes de nivel superior.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the educational workshop “Decide y protégete” on knowledge regarding condom use among higher education students in Lima, 2026. Methodology: A quantitative, applied study with a pre experimental design using a single group with pretest–posttest measurements was conducted. Data were collected through a survey using a 15-item questionnaire assessing knowledge of condom use, applied before and after the educational workshop. Descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for related samples (95% CI) were used for analysis. Results: A total of 80 students participated. The predominant age groups were 18–19 years and over 25 years (36.3% each). Most participants were single (90.0%), Catholic (67.5%), and either employed in dependent work (47.5%) or studying and working simultaneously (45.0%). Before the intervention, a medium level of knowledge predominated (60.0%), followed by high (36.3%) and low levels (3.7%). After the workshop, high knowledge increased to 87.5%, while medium and low levels decreased to 11.3% and 1.2%, respectively. The mean knowledge score increased from 9.1 ± 2.4 (pretest) to 12.8 ± 1.9 (posttest), showing a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The “Decide y protégete” educational workshop was effective in significantly improving knowledge about condom use among higher education students.
