Nivel de conocimiento y uso de métodos anticonceptivos en estudiantes de cuarto y quinto de secundaria de la Institución Educativa 0026 Aichi Nagoya, Lima, 2024

Abstract

Objetivo: El estudio determinó cuál es la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y uso de métodos anticonceptivos en estudiantes de cuarto y quinto de secundaria. Método: El estudio utilizó una metodología cuantitativa correlacional de diseño no experimental de corte transeccional, implementando el método hipotético-deductivo en 118 alumnos de cuarto y quinto año de secundaria a través de un instrumento que evaluó el conocimiento y la utilización de métodos anticonceptivos. Resultados: Los resultados demostraron que el 53,4% de alumnos poseen nivel alto de conocimientos sobre métodos anticonceptivos, el 30,5% conocimiento medio y el 16,1% nivel bajo; en tanto que, el 62,7% de los estudiantes usan métodos anticonceptivos y el 37,3% no usan. Conclusiones: La investigación evidenció una relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre métodos anticonceptivos y su uso (χ2=67,348; p=0,000), indicando que, a mayor conocimiento los estudiantes tienen una mayor posibilidad de utilizar correctamente los métodos anticonceptivos. Adicionalmente, se hallaron relaciones notables entre las dimensiones concepto (χ2=48,011; p=0,000), importancia (χ2=44,342; p=0,000), tipo (χ2=56,926; p=0,000) y frecuencia de uso de MAC (χ2=63,077; p=0,000) con el uso de métodos anticonceptivos.

Objective: The study determined the relationship between the level of knowledge and use of contraceptive methods in fourth and fifth year high school students. Method: The study used a quantitative correlational methodology with a non-experimental transectional design, implementing the hypothetical-deductive method in 118 fourth and fifth year high school students through an instrument that evaluated the knowledge and use of contraceptive methods. Results: The results revealed that 53.4% of the students have high level of knowledge about contraceptive methods, 30.5% medium knowledge and 16.1% low level; meanwhile, 62.7% of the students use contraceptive methods and 37.3% do not use. Conclusions: The research evidenced an association between the level of knowledge about contraceptive methods and their use (χ2=67.348; p=0.000), indicating that, the greater the knowledge the students have a greater possibility of using contraceptive methods correctly. Additionally, notable relationships were found between the dimensions concept (χ2=48.011; p=0.000), importance (χ2=44.342; p=0.000), type (χ2=56.926; p=0.000) and frequency of MAC use (χ2=63.077; p=0.000) with the use of contraceptive methods.
