Autoestima y estrés académico en estudiantes de secundaria de la I.E. Juan Velasco Alvarado de San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima – 2025

Abstract

Este estudio tuvo por objetivo principal analizar cómo se relacionan la autoestima y el estrés académico en estudiantes de secundaria de la I.E. Juan Velasco Alvarado de San Juan de Lurigancho. Dicho estudio se delimitó dentro de un método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional, tipo básico y corte transversal; teniendo una muestra compuesta por 269 alumnos varones y mujeres que cursan el nivel secundario de dicha institución educativa, quienes fueron encuestados mediante la Escala de autoestima de Rosenberg y el Inventario de estrés académico SISCO SV-21. Los hallazgos indicaron que la autoestima no se relacionó con el estrés académico (rho=-0.03; p>0.05); asimismo, la autoestima tampoco se correlacionó con los estresores (rho=-0.01; p>0.05), síntomas (rho=-0.76; p>0.05) y estrategias de afrontamiento (rho=-0.00; p>0.05). Se concluyó que la autoestima de los estudiantes de secundaria no se relaciona con el estrés académico.

The main objective of this study was to analyze how self-esteem and academic stress are related in secondary school students at the Juan Velasco Alvarado I.E. in San Juan de Lurigancho. This study was delimited within a hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, non experimental design, correlational level, basic type and cross-sectional; having a sample composed of 269 male and female students who attend the secondary level of this educational institution, who were surveyed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the SISCO SV-21 Academic Stress Inventory. The findings indicated that self-esteem was not related to academic stress (rho = -0.03; p > 0.05); likewise, self-esteem was not correlated with stressors (rho = -0.01; p > 0.05), symptoms (rho = -0.76; p > 0.05) and coping strategies (rho = -0.00; p > 0.05). It was concluded that high school students' self-esteem is not related to academic stress.
