Autoestima e inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de tercero a quinto de secundaria de una institución educativa publica de Villa María del Triunfo, 2024

Abstract

El propósito principal de la investigación fue verificar la relación existente entre la autoestima y la inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de tercero a quinto año de secundaria de una institución educativa pública del distrito de Villa María del Triunfo durante el año 2024. El método empleado fue hipotético-deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo. La investigación fue de tipo básica, con un diseño no experimental, de nivel correlacional y corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 122 estudiantes, hombres y mujeres, entre tercero y quinto año de secundaria. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron dos instrumentos: la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg y la escala TMMS-24 (Escala de metaestado de ánimo de rasgos) de Salovey y Mayer. El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante el paquete estadístico para ciencias sociales SPSS v. 25 y Excel. Los hallazgos evidenciaron una correlación positiva y significativa entre la relación de la autoestima y la inteligencia emocional (Rho = 0.456), lo cual confirma la hipótesis general del estudio y permite concluir que existe una relación directa entre ambas variables en la población evaluada.

The main purpose of this research was to verify the existing relationship between self-esteem and emotional intelligence in students from third to fifth year of secondary school at a public educational institution in the district of Villa María del Triunfo during the year 2024. A hypothetico-deductive method with a quantitative approach was employed. The research was basic in nature, with a non-experimental design, correlational level, and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 122 students, both male and female, enrolled from third to fifth year of secondary school. Two instruments were used for data collection: the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the TMMS-24 (Trait Meta-Mood Scale) by Salovey and Mayer. Data analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) v. 25 and Excel. The findings revealed a positive and significant correlation linking self-esteem with emotional intelligence (Rho = 0.456), thereby confirming the general hypothesis of the study and allowing the conclusion that there is a direct relationship between both variables in the evaluated population.
