The objective of this research project was to identify the relationship between sarcopenia risk and nutritional status in older adults at the Integral Center for Older Adults of the Provincial Municipality of Santa, Chimbote 2023. The methodology involves a quantitative approach, applied type, hypothetical-deductive research method, non-experimental design, with a correlational scope. The sample consisted of 90 older adults from the Integral Center for Older Adults (CIAM) of the Provincial Municipality of Santa. The study technique will be a survey, using the SARC-F questionnaire for sarcopenia screening and the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) to evaluate nutritional condition. These instruments will be validated by three experts. Ethical principles in research will be considered, and for data processing, Microsoft programs and SPSS V.24.0 will be used to create databases and statistical treatment, allowing the construction of tables/graphs for further interpretation and analysis to reach conclusions.
Resumen
El presente proyecto de investigación tuvo como objetivo general, identificar la relación entre riesgo de sarcopenia y estado nutricional de adultos mayores del Centro Integral del Adulto Mayor de la Municipalidad Provincial Del Santa, Chimbote 2023. Como metodología será un estudio donde se asumirá el enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, con método de investigación hipotético deductivo, no experimental, con alcance correlacional, trabajando con una muestra no probabilística de 90 adultos mayores participantes del Centro Integral del Adulto Mayor (CIAM) de la Municipalidad Provincial del Santa. La técnica de estudio será la encuesta y como instrumentos, se trabajará con el cuestionario SARC-F que evalúa por medio de un screening la probabilidad de sarcopenia y el Mini Valoración Nutricional (MNA) que valora la condición nutricional en el adulto mayor; los cuales serán validados a juicio de 3 expertos. Para el desarrollo y ejecución del proyecto se tendrá en cuenta los principios éticos en investigación y para el procesamiento de los datos, se utilizará programas de Microsoft para crear bases de datos y el SPSS V.24.0 para tratamiento estadístico, el cual permitirá la construcción de tablas y/o gráficos para su posterior interpretación, análisis que permitan llegan a conclusiones
