Effectiveness of directly observed treatment in increasing cure rates and reducing abandonment and relapse in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and positive bacilloscopy

Resumen
Objective: Systematize the evidence about directly observed treatment to increase cure rates, reduce dropouts and relapses, in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Materials and Methods: Systematic review, compiled and analyzed based on studies published in internet search engines such as: PUBMED, SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO, EMBASE. Guaranteeing the quality and strength of the research, suggested according to the GRADE system. Results: Articles that provide reliable products were selected, taking into account the authenticity of the studies reviewed, extracting crucial information. The research is mostly synthesis of evidence and meta-analysis. 10 articles were chosen, 20% of the research corresponded to the USA, 10% to Argentina, 10% to Australia, 10% to the United Kingdom, 10% to China, 10% to India, 10% to Brazil, 10% to Nigeria and 10% Taiwan. 60% of the studies carried out demonstrate that directly observed treatment ensures cure, to this is added nursing counseling and its constant monitoring that prevents abandonment and possible relapse in patients with tuberculosis. Conclusion. 60% of the studies demonstrate the effectiveness of directly observed treatment to increase cure rates, reduce dropouts and relapses, in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with copy-positive bacilli.
Resumen
Objetivo: Sistematizar la evidencia acerca del tratamiento directamente observado para incrementar tasas de curación, disminuir abandonos y recaídas, en pacientes con tuberculosis pulmonar. Materiales y Métodos: Revisión sistemática, recopilada y analizada en base a estudios publicados en buscadores de internet como: PUBMED, SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO, EMBASE. Garantizando la calidad y la fuerza de las investigaciones, sugeridas según el sistema GRADE. Resultados: Se seleccionaron artículos que aportan productos fiables, tomando en cuenta la autenticidad de los estudios revisados, extrayendo la información crucial, Las investigaciones en su mayoría son síntesis de evidencias y meta-análisis. Se eligieron 10 artículos, el 20% de las investigaciones correspondieron a EE.UU, 10% a Argentina, 10% de Australia, 10% Reino Unido, 10% a China, 10% a India, 10% a Brasil, 10% a Nigeria y 10% Taiwán. El 60 % de los estudios realizados demuestran que el tratamiento directamente observado asegura la curación, a esto se añade la consejería de enfermería y su constante seguimiento que evita el abandono y posible recaída en los pacientes con tuberculosis. Conclusión. El 60 % de los estudios demuestran la efectividad del tratamiento directamente observado para incrementar tasas de curación, disminuir abandonos y recaídas, en pacientes con tuberculosis pulmonar con bacilos copia positiva.
