Introduction: Child malnutrition, a public health problem that causes the inadequate development and growth of this age group to the point of being irreversible if corrective measures are not taken in time, in addition to causing future repercussions in society, which is why those most affected are underdeveloped countries, which have had a high prevalence of malnutrition for years. One of the main causes is the lack of knowledge of parents about adequate nutrition. Objective To determine if there is an association between the nutritional status of children from 2 to 5 years of age and the nutritional knowledge of mothers who attend the Cesar Vallejo Health Post, 2019 in the district of Villa María del Triunfo, Lima - Peru 2019. Methodology : The research presented has a quantitative approach, in terms of the methodological design it is an analytical cross-sectional correlational research. The sample will be made up of 64 mothers of children from 2 to 5 years old, obtained through the simple random sampling formula of sample proportion, with a sample reliability of 95% and a relative sampling error of 5%. The data collection technique is the survey and the instrument is the questionnaire (with validity by expert judgment carried out by the UPC).
Resumen
Introducción: Desnutrición infantil, problema de salud pública que ocasiona el inadecuado desarrollo y crecimiento de este grupo etario al punto de ser irreversible si no se toman las medidas correctivas a tiempo, además que ocasionan repercusiones futuras en la sociedad, por ello los más afectados son los países subdesarrollados, los cuales llevan años con una prevalencia alta de desnutrición. Entre una de las causas principales está el desconocimiento de padres sobre una adecuada alimentación. Objetivo Determinar si existe asociación entre el estado nutricional de niños de 2 a 5 años de edad y los conocimientos nutricionales de las madres que acuden al Puesto de Salud Cesar Vallejo, 2019 en el distrito de Villa María del Triunfo, Lima – Perú 2019. Metodología: La investigación expuesta es de enfoque cuantitativo, en cuanto al diseño metodológico es una investigación correlacional de corte transversal analítico. La muestra estará conformada por 64 madres de niños de 2 a 5 años, obtenida a través de la fórmula de muestreo aleatorio simple de proporción muestral, con una confiabilidad muestral de 95% y un error relativo muestral de 5%. La técnica de recolección de datos es la encuesta y el instrumento es el cuestionario (con validez por juicio de expertos realizado por la UPC).
