Objective: Systematize the evidence about the effectiveness of music therapy in improving physiological and emotional parameters of premature neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Material and methods: Systematic review that synthesizes the results of multiple investigations, identifying the most relevant to answer specific questions of daily practice. The search was restricted to articles with full text subjected to critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, finding that 40% (4/10) correspond to Europe (Holland, Norway, Spain and Italy), and 30% (3/10) to Asia (Iran and Indonesia). 20% (2/10) to North America (Canada and the United States), 10% (01) to Latin America (Brazil). These are mostly 80% systematic reviews and 20% (2/10) randomized studies. 100% (10/10) of the studies affirm the effectiveness of music therapy in improving the physiological and emotional parameters of premature neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Conclusions: The effectiveness of the studies shows that music therapy is effective in improving the physiological and emotional parameters of premature neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Resumen
Objetivo: Sistematizar la evidencia acerca de la eficacia de la musicoterapia en la mejora de parámetros fisiológicos y emocionales de los neonatos prematuros en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN). Material y métodos: Revisión sistemática que sintetiza los resultados de múltiples investigaciones, identificando lo más relevante para responder preguntas específicas de la práctica diaria. La búsqueda fue restringida a artículos con texto completo sometidos a una lectura crítica, utilizando el sistema GRADE para asignar la fuerza de recomendación. Resultados: En la selección definitiva se eligieron 10 artículos, encontrando que el 40% (4/10) corresponden a Europa (Holanda, Noruega, España e Italia), y 30% (3/10) a Asia (Irán e Indonesia), 20% (2/10) a América del Norte (Canadá y Estados Unidos), 10% (01) a Latinoamérica (Brasil). Estos en su mayoría son de revisiones sistemáticas en un 80% y estudios aleatorizados 20% (2/10). El 100% (10/10) de los estudios afirman la eficacia de la musicoterapia en la mejora de parámetros fisiológicos y emocionales de los neonatos prematuros en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN). Conclusiones: La efectividad de los estudios permite evidenciar que la musicoterapia es eficaz en la mejora de parámetros fisiológicos y emocionales de los neonatos prematuros en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN).
