Effectiveness of Captopril treatment in patients with hypertensive crises

Objective: To systematize and analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of captopril treatment in hypertensive crises. Materials and Methods: This is an observational and retrospective systematic review, with a search restricted to full-text articles, and selected articles underwent critical reading. Of the 11 articles, 28% (03) are from Cuba, 18% (02) from Mexico, 18% (02) from Brazil, 9% (01) from the USA, 9% (01) from Iran, 9% (01) from Turkey, and 9% (01) from Bosnia. Systematic review with 9% from Brazil, quasi-experimental studies with 9% from Mexico and Bosnia, and clinical trials with 9% from Cuba, Iran, and Mexico, respectively. 18% of the studies are cross-sectional descriptive studies from Cuba, 9% from Brazil, 9% from Turkey, and 9% from the USA. 100% of the analyzed articles affirm that captopril is effective in the treatment of hypertensive crises. Results: E. Karakilic et al. demonstrate that captopril is an effective, easy-to-administer, and safe treatment for hypertensive crises, starting its action from 15 to 120 minutes after administration, reducing the mean blood pressure by 25%, as recommended by European and North American guidelines. This is consistent with Maleki A et al., who evaluated nifedipine, captopril, or sublingual nitroglycerin, which can reduce blood pressure the most? Conclusion: The reviewed studies provide evidence of the efficacy of captopril in treating hypertensive crises.
Resumen
Objetivo: Sistematizar y analizar las evidencias sobre la eficacia del tratamiento con captopril en las crisis hipertensivas. Materiales y Métodos: Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo, la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos con texto completo y los artículos seleccionados se sometieron a una lectura crítica. De los 11 artículos, encontramos que el 28% (03) corresponden a Cuba, un 18% (02) México, mientras el 18% (02) corresponde a Brasil, el 9% (01) a EEUU, el 9% (01) a Irán, el 9% (01) a Turquía, el 9% (01) a Bosnia respectivamente. Revisión Sistémica con el 9%, Brasil, cuasi experimental, con 9%, México y Bosnia respectivamente. Ensayo Clínico, con 9%. País Cuba, Irán y México respectivamente y con un 18% estudios descriptivos transversales pertenecientes a Cuba, 9% Brasil, 9% Turquía y 9% EEUU. Donde el 100% de artículos analizados afirman que el captopril es eficaz en el tratamiento de las crisis hipertensivas. Resultados: E. Karakilic, et al. el captopril es utilizado como tratamiento eficaz, de fácil aplicación y seguro en el tratamiento de las crisis hipertensivas iniciando su acción desde los primeros 15 hasta los 120 minutos de administrado disminuyendo la presión arterial media en un 25% tal y como recomiendan las guías europeas y norteamericanas, coincidiendo con, Maleki A, et al. Conclusiones: Se evidenció en las investigaciones revisadas que existe eficacia del captopril en el tratamiento de las crisis hipertensivas.
