Introduction: knowledge and preventive practice in nursing is fundamental and timely for informing parents about the prevention of respiratory diseases that have been evolving in recent years, giving greater relevance to health systems. Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge about respiratory diseases and preventive practice of parents of children who attend the outpatient clinic of a Maternal and Child Center. 2023 Methodology: hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental design, quantitative approach, descriptive, applicative, correlational and transversal; It was applied to a population of 80 parents of children who attended the outpatient clinic of a Maternal and Child Center, during the year 2023, who participated through two instruments: a 10-item questionnaire for the variable level of knowledge about respiratory diseases and another of 22 Items for preventive practice for parents of children who attend the outpatient clinic. To analyze the variables, the MOSS questionnaire (Crombach's alpha reliability 0.885) and the Likert-type scale (Crombach's alpha reliability 0.701) will be used. Statistical analysis of the data, a descriptive analysis will be carried out using frequency and percentage tables, the inferential analysis will be through parametric statistical tests (Pearson Correlation) or non-parametric tests (Chi-square).
Resumen
Introducción: el conocimiento y la practica preventiva en enfermería, es fundamental y oportuna para la información a los padres de la prevención de las enfermedades respiratorias que estos últimos años va evolucionando, dando mayor relevancia en los sistemas de salud. Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación entre conocimiento sobre las enfermedades respiratorias y la práctica preventiva de padres de niños que acuden a la consulta externa de un Centro Materno Infantil. 2023 Metodología: método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, aplicativo, correlacional y transversal; se aplicó a una población de 80 padres de niños que asistieron a la consulta externa de un Centro Materno Infantil , durante el año 2023 quienes participaron mediante dos instrumentos: un cuestionario de 10 ítems para la variable nivel de conocimiento sobre enfermedades respiratorias y otro de 22 ítems para la práctica preventiva de padres de niños que acuden al consultorio externo . Para analizar las variables se utilizará el cuestionario MOSS (confiabilidad alpha de crombach 0,885) y la escala tipo Likert (confiabilidad alpha de crombach 0.701). Análisis estadísticos de la data, se realizará un análisis descriptivo mediante tablas de frecuencia y porcentaje, el análisis inferencial será mediante pruebas estadísticas paramétricas de Pearson
