Invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) is one of the main life supports in the management of critically ill patients due to respiratory instability. In general, these patients are characterized by high severity scores and therefore high mortality. Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge about preventive measures for pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and nursing practice in the ICU of the María Auxiliadora Hospital, Lima-Peru 2022. Methodology: Quantitative study, application level, correlational, cross-sectional. Study group: For the population in the research, the nurses (professionals) of the ICU service of the María Auxiliadora Hospital will be taken into account, which is made up of 40. The survey technique and the observation; 2 instruments will be applied, a questionnaire and a checklist; Descriptive and inferential statistics will be used, all ethical principles will be respected.
Resumen
La ventilación mecánica invasiva (VMI) es uno de los principales soportes vitales en el manejo del paciente críticamente enfermo debido a inestabilidad respiratoria. En general estos pacientes se caracterizan por presentar puntajes de gravedad elevados y por ende elevada mortalidad. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento sobre medidas preventivas de la neumonía asociada a ventilación mecánica y la práctica de enfermería en la UCI del Hospital María Auxiliadora, Lima- Perú 2022. Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo, nivel aplicativo, correlacional, de corte transversal. Grupo de estudios: Para la población en la investigación se tendrá en cuenta a las enfermeras (profesionales) del servicio de UCI del Hospital María Auxiliadora, la cual está constituida por 40. Se utilizará para la recolección de información la técnica de la encuesta y la observación; se aplicarán 2 instrumentos un cuestionario y una lista de cotejo; se utilizará la estadística descriptiva e inferencial, se respetarán todos los principios éticos.
