Quality of life in breast cancer patients in the ambulatory chemotherapy service at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, 2021

Objective: Determine the quality of life of patients with breast cancer in the Outpatient Chemotherapy service of the INEN, 2021. Material and method: The present study has a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach. The population will be made up of 100 patients with a diagnosis of breast cancer who attend the outpatient chemotherapy service, selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for outpatient chemotherapy, raised in the research, no sample size was calculated. The EORTC QLQ-30 quality of life questionnaire and the breast cancer module will be used. These instruments were validated by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer. We can cite this instrument in the study carried out by Irarrázaval, et al. in the city of Chile in which it refers that said instrument must be validated linguistically and statistically, for which it was applied to 100 patients, and of whom within linguistic validation there were no problems with the interpretation of the instrument and the statistical analysis was obtained from internal consistency results (α>0.70) and the test-retest correlations were significant in all dimensions. Finally, the data from the matrix in Excel will be exported to the SPSS VERSION 25 program, where the analysis itself will be carried out taking into account the tools of descriptive statistics.
Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar la calidad de vida de los pacientes con cáncer de mama del servicio de Quimioterapia Ambulatoria del INEN, 2021. Material y método: El presente estudio tiene enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La población estará conformada por 100 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer de mama que acude al servicio de quimioterapia ambulatoria, seleccionados de acuerdo a criterios de inclusión y exclusión de quimioterapia ambulatoria, planteados en la investigación, no se calculó tamaño muestral. Se empleara el cuestionario de calidad de vida EORTC QLQ-30 y el módulo de cáncer de mama, dichos instrumentos fueron validados por la Organización Europea para la investigación y el Tratamiento del cáncer, Podemos citar a dicho instrumento en el estudio realizado por Irarrázaval, et al en la cuidad de Chile en el cual hace referencia que dicho instrumento debe ser validado lingüísticamente y estadísticamente, para lo cual se aplicó a 100 pacientes, y de los cuales dentro de validación lingüística no se tuvo problemas para la interpretación del instrumento y el análisis estadístico se obtuvo de resultados de consistencia interna (α>0.70) y las correlaciones de test-retest fueron significativas en todas las dimensiones. Finalmente, los datos de la matriz en Excel, serán exportados al programa SPSS VERSION 25, en donde se realizará el análisis propiamente dicho tomando en cuenta las herramientas de la estadística descriptiva
