dc.description.abstract	The objective was to determine the fluoride concentration in ppm in children's toothpaste marketed in Lima, Peru, in 2017. The research was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. A non-random sample of 8 brands of pediatric toothpaste was collected from pharmacies and drugstores in Lima, with a total of 48 samples (6 from each brand) since 8 brands were available in the market. The Student's t-test and Wilcoxon test for a single sample were used for analysis. Results: The difference between the labeled fluoride concentration and what was found based on the median was: Colgate Smile® 6 years: 119.8 ppm, Oral B Pro Salud Stages®: 57.05 ppm. The difference between labeled fluoride concentration and what was found based on the average was: Colgate Smile 2-5 years®: -31.2 ppm, Farmadent Kids®: -36.27 ppm, Dentito®: -520.1 ppm, Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years): 41.68 ppm, Vitis Junior®: 141.85 ppm, Aqua Fresh Big Teeth® (6 years and older): 112.82 ppm; of those, only Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years) was not significant. Regarding the pH of the toothpastes, the values were: Colgate Smile® 6 years: 5.92, Colgate Smile® 2-5 years: 5.5, Oral B Pro Salud Stages®: 5.5, Farmadent Kids®: 6, Dentito®: 6, Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years): 5.5, Vitis Junior®: 5.5, Aqua Fresh Big Teeth® (6 years and older): 6. Conclusion: Three toothpastes had fluoride concentrations lower than labeled, and five toothpastes had higher concentrations than labeled (with one of them being not significant).	en_US
dc.description.abstract	El objetivo fue determinar la concentración de ppm de flúor en pastas dentales para niños comercializadas en Lima Perú año 2017. la investigación fue observacional, descriptiva y trasversal. Se recolectó de forma no aleatoria, 8 marcas de pasta dental pediátrica, el cálculo de muestra fue en farmacias y boticas de Lima; se completó un total de 48 (6 de cada marca) por encontrarse 8 marcas en el mercado. Se utilizó prueba t de Student y Wilcoxon para una sola muestra. Los resultados fueron que la diferencia entre la concentración de flúor según rotulado; y lo encontrado en base a la mediana fue Colgate Smile® 6 años: 119.8 ppm, Oral B pro salud stages®: 57.05 ppm. La diferencia de flúor según rotulado y lo encontrado en base al promedio fue Colgate Smile 2-5 años®: -31.2 ppm, Farmadent Kids®: -36.27 ppm, Dentito®: -520.1 ppm, Aqua fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 años): 41.68 ppm, Vitis Junior®: 141.85 ppm, Aqua Fresh Big Teeth® (6 años a más): 112.82 ppm; de entre los mencionados solo Aqua fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 años) fue no significativo. En relación al pH de las pastas dentales fueron Colgate Smile® 6 años: 5.92, Colgate Smile® 2-5 años: 5.5, Oral B pro Salud Stages®: 5.5, Farmadent Kids®: 6, Dentito®: 6, Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 años): 5.5, Vitis Junior®: 5.5, Aqua Fresh Big teeth® (6 años a más): 6. Se concluyó que tres pastas dentales tienen concentraciones menores al rotulado. Cinco pastas dentales tienen concentraciones mayores al rotulado (siendo una de ellas no significativa).	es_ES
