Material and method: this research had a quantitative approach with a descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 60 mothers, the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire designed by the researchers as an instrument. Result: they showed that in terms of knowledge the medium level predominates with 51.7%, followed by high level with 45% and finally 3.3% low level, in terms of attitude of the mothers they were mostly favorable with 68.3% and 31.7% unfavorable . The correlation was determined using Pearson's Chi-square statistical test, where P value is 0.023. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of preventive measures for Acute Respiratory Infections in mothers of children under 5 years of age, in terms of knowledge the average level and a favorable attitude predominate.
Resumen
Material y método: la presente investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo de diseño descriptivo correlacional, y de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 60 madres, se usó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario diseñado por las investigadoras. Resultado: mostraron que en cuanto al conocimiento predomina el nivel medio con un 51.7%, seguido nivel alto con 45% y finalmente 3.3% nivel bajo, en cuanto a actitud de las madres presentaron en su mayoría favorable con un 68.3% y 31.7% desfavorable. La correlación se determinó mediante la prueba estadística de Chi-cuadrado de Pearson, donde P valor es 0.023. Conclusión: Existe relación entre los conocimientos y las actitudes de medidas preventivas de Infecciones Respiratorias Agudas en madres de menores de 5 años, en cuanto al conocimiento predomina el nivel medio y una actitud favorable.
