Publicación Acceso abierto Adherencia al tratamiento con dosis combinada y reacciones adversas en pacientes del servicio de Programa Control Tuberculosis, Centro Materno Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2026-02-20) López Ayala, Betsabe; Loredo Guadalupe, Israel; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective was to determine the relationship between adherence to combined dose treatment and adverse reactions in patients of the Tuberculosis Control Program service, Maternal Center Lima 2024. Method. The study employed a non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional, numerically oriented design, using a hypothetico-deductive method and a basic approach. The participating population consisted of 159 individuals, 20 years of age or older, diagnosed with tuberculosis. Data were collected through surveys, and the hypothesis was verified using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (rho). Results. 72.3% were between 20 and 35 years old; 49.7% were male. 78% understood the importance of completing treatment, 93.7% did not interrupt their treatment; 66.7% had family support, 72.3% experienced side effects, and 79.9% had access to medication. Level of adherence to treatment; Adherence to treatment was fair in 50.3% of cases, good in 30.8%, and poor in 18.9%. Regarding adverse reactions, 61.6% experienced nausea or vomiting, 40.9% abdominal pain, 17.6% jaundice, 23.9% skin rashes, 44.0% fatigue, 26.4% blurred vision, and 12.6% joint pain or swelling. The severity of adverse reactions was moderate in 59.1%, mild in 30.8%, and severe in 10.1%. A significant relationship (p=0.000) was observed between adherence to combination-dose treatment and adverse reactions in tuberculosis patients. Conclusion: A strong positive correlation (rho=0.751) exists between adherence to combination dose treatment and adverse reactions in tuberculosis patients enrolled in the tuberculosis control program at the Lima 2024 Maternal Center.Publicación Acceso abierto Cumplimiento de buenas prácticas de prescripción e interacción medicamentosa en recetas médicas del servicio de emergencia del Hospital Nacional Docente Madre Niño San Bartolomé, periodo marzo-abril 2025, Lima, Perú(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-11-03) Auqui Sulca, Enrique Elías; Huamán Solano, Deysi Noemi; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaPatients, upon attending the hospital, seek quality care and prescriptions that are properly completed and free of health risks. Objective: To quantify the percentage of compliance with Good Prescribing Practices and the presence of Drug Interactions in medical prescriptions from the Emergency Department. Methodology: An inductive method with a quantitative approach, basic type, and a descriptive, retrospective design was applied. A total of 330 medical prescriptions from the department were reviewed. Data were processed using Excel and SPSS. Results: A 100% non-compliance rate was observed in prescriptions regarding the overall presence of prescribing indicators. The patient data dimension showed 99% compliance with its indicators, medication data 97%, and prescriber data 82%, with deficiencies in “legible handwriting” (41%) and “expiration date” (0%). Regarding drug interactions, a prevalence of 19% was identified, predominantly pharmacodynamic type at 18%. The most frequent clinical severity was moderate (72%), followed by mild (25%). Conclusion: It was concluded that there was no full compliance in prescriptions, and drug interactions of moderate severity were identified.Publicación Acceso abierto Dolor musculoesquelético y su relación con el tratamiento analgésico más coadyuvantes en adultos mayores de 50 años en una botica, Distrito San Luis, Lima Perú – 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-04) Tarazona Silverio, Benancio Iván; Victorio Patricio, Rosmeri Yorela; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective was: To determine the relationship between analgesic treatment plus adjuvants and musculoskeletal pain in adults over 50 years old at a pharmacy in the district of San Luis, 2023. The study employed a hypothetical-deductive method, basic research. The sample consisted of 208 individuals. A survey and questionnaire were used to collect data, and the hypothesis was tested using Spearman’s Rho correlation. Results: Of the 208 individuals, 79.8% were between 50 and 67 years old, 56.3% were female, and 44.7% were married. Pain intensity was reported as moderate in 37%, mild in 32.1%, and intense in 19%. Regarding the impact of pain, interference was observed in 49.5% of daily activities, 50.5% of social activities, and 28.4% of work productivity. Pain was located in: 70.2% hands; 73.5% arms and shoulders; 54.1% cervical and back; 56.7% head; 53.8% spine and hips; 67.4% feet; 22.65% ankles or knees; 54.8% calves or legs. Use of non-steroidal analgesics: 29.8% metamizole or piroxicam; 86.5% ketorolac, diclofenac, or paracetamol; 73.6% naproxen or ibuprofen; 23.6% celecoxib or etoricoxib. Use of analgesic adjuvants: 39.9% gabapentin; 40.4% amitriptyline; 38.9% sertraline; 45.2% clonazepam. Effects from analgesic use: 87% experienced pain relief; 69.7% took the indicated dose; 59.1% followed the administration schedule; 53.8% never had digestive discomfort; 55.3% never experienced dizziness or drowsiness. Conclusion: There is a low positive correlation between analgesic treatment plus adjuvants and musculoskeletal pain in adults over 50 years old at a pharmacy in the district of San Luis, 2023.Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto antihelmíntico de las hojas de Artemisia absinthium L. (ajenjo) para combatir Enterobius vermicularis (oxiuros) en niños del centro poblado Udima – Catache – Santa Cruz, Cajamarca – Perú 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-04) Correa Malaver, Sandi Margarita; Díaz Sánchez, Isamar Miniamin; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective was to determine the effect of wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) leaves in combating Enterobius vermicularis (pinworms) in children from the Udima community. The study followed a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach and an experimental design including pre- and post-treatment tests. The study population consisted of 117 children, aged 3 to 9 years, treated at the Udima Health Center, Cajamarca, with a sample of 90 diagnosed with pinworm parasitosis through the Graham test. Results showed a significant prevalence of E. vermicularis infection, affecting 53.3% of the children. Daily doses of 4 grams of wormwood leaves did not result in significant reductions of pinworms. However, doses of 6.5 grams and 9.0 grams showed significant effects in reducing the parasite. These findings indicate that doses of 6.5 and 9 grams of wormwood leaves have a significant impact on decreasing pinworm infections in children.Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento con isotretinoina en pacientes con acné vulgaris del hospital de la Solidaridad del distrito de Puente Piedra. Lima. 2025(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-06-04) Manchay Alberca, Santos Maria; Santos Alvarado, Milagros Ana; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaObjective: This study aimed to determine the factors associated with adherence to isotretinoin treatment in patients with acne vulgaris at the Hospital de La Solidaridad in the Puente Piedra District, Lima, in 2025. Methodology: This was a basic study with an observational design, a quantitative approach, a correlational level, and a cross-sectional cut. A survey was conducted with 100 patients attending the Hospital de La Solidaridad in Puente Piedra in 2025, using two instruments. Results: A total of 62% of patients had severe acne, and 70% had suffered from it for less than a year. The most common adverse effects of isotretinoin were headaches (reported by 64% of patients) and lip dryness (reported by 63%). Although patients had good knowledge about the disease, more than 50% were non-adherent to the treatment. Additionally, 95% received pharmaceutical care, ensuring proper dispensing practices in compliance with Good Dispensing Practices (GDP). Conclusion: It was determined that adherence to isotretinoin treatment in patients with acne vulgaris at the Hospital de La Solidaridad in the Puente Piedra District was associated with various factors, including socioeconomic conditions, pharmacotherapy-related aspects, the pharmaceutical professional, and the disease itself. Objetivo: identificar los factores que lo afectan, proponiéndose determinar los factores asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con asma del consultorio de pediatría del Hospital de Lima Este Vitarte. Lima – Perú 2025. Metodología: se usó el enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional y corte transversal, considerando como población a los que recibieron atención médica por asma en el consultorio de pediatría del Hospital Lima Este Vitarte durante el año 2025, con tamaño muestral calculado en 130 participantes seleccionados mediante muestreo aleatorio probabilístico. Resultados: el 50,8% de los pacientes tenía entre 6 y 10 años; el 86,2% no tenía antecedentes familiares de asma; el 63,1% de los apoderados no trabajaba, siendo el 85,4% del sexo femenino. Conclusión: En el análisis inferencial, se encontró que solo el indicador de claridad de la información brindada por el profesional de salud, perteneciente a los factores relacionados con el sistema de salud, estuvo asociado al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes pediátricos con asma (OR = 5,779; p = 0,018). Methodology: Deductive, quantitative, basic, non experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional research. The sample consisted of 190 pharmaceutical establishments (190 pharmacists), and was conducted through a survey. Results: Pharmacists working in pharmaceutical establishments had a high percentage of poor working conditions, with 81.1% indicating poor working conditions. 54.7% had average workplace communication, 78.9% had a high percentage of personal problems, 81.6% had a high percentage of human talent management, and 57.4% had a low percentage of infrastructure and equipment, indicating good conditions. Regarding the Good Dispensing Practices variable, the percentage was fair, with a percentage of 49.5%. This demonstrated that dispensing practices are fair. Conclusion: It was determined that there is significant agreement between the conditioning factors and the GDPs, as their indicator of workplace communication. There was no significant correlation for some indicators in the establishments where the Pharmaceutical Chemists work in the Los Olivos district, Lima, Perú.Publicación Acceso abierto Prevalencia y factores de síndrome de intestino irritable en relación hábitos dietéticos en adultos mayores de 30 años en el distrito de San Borja 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-29) Quintana Quevedo, Jesús Martin; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective of the study was to identify the relationship between dietary habits and the prevalence and factors of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in adults over 30 years old in the district of San Borja, 2023. Methods: The study followed a quantitative approach, basic type, non-experimental design, hypothetical-deductive method, descriptive-correlational scope, cross-sectional cut, and simple random probabilistic sampling. The sample consisted of 384 adults. Data were collected using a questionnaire through surveys, and the hypothesis was tested using Spearman’s Rho. Results: Of the 384 adults, 52.1% were female, and 48.4% were married. Regarding consumption of plant-based foods: 85.4% consumed pasta, 92.4% vegetables, 98% fruits, and 93.7% beans. Regarding consumption of animal-based foods: 75.7% consumed beef, 95.9% poultry, 78.1% milk or dairy products, and 75.2% fish. Regarding consumption of industrially processed foods: 83.8% consumed flour-based products, 41.4% processed meats, 39.3% soft drinks, and 51% fried foods.In terms of eating habits: 33% skipped breakfast, 38.5% drank coffee, and 33.6% were lactose intolerant.Regarding emotional factors: 41.7% reported feelings of sadness, 57.2% frustration, 48% difficulty concentrating, and 44.8% fatigue. Regarding pharmacological treatment: 35.4% used antidiarrheals, 27.1% antispasmodics, 13.6% antidepressants, and 72.2% analgesics. IBS symptoms included: 28.6% recurrent abdominal pain, 39.1% pain during defecation, 36.7% changes in stool frequency, and 38% changes in stool appearance. IBS prevalence was 32.3% in men and 19.8% in women. Conclusion: Dietary habits were related to the prevalence and factors of irritable bowel syndrome in adults over 30 years old in the district of San Borja, 2023, with a low positive correlation.Publicación Acceso abierto Seguimiento farmacoterapéutico y su relación con el uso de antimicrobianos en pacientes pediátricos hospitalizados del hospital de emergencias pediátricas 2023-2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-05-29) Medrano Saravia, María Elba; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe irrational use of antimicrobials (ATM) in hospitals is one of the main causes of antimicrobial resistance. This is aggravated by the lack of adequate pharmacotherapeutic follow up, affecting treatments and health. Objective: To determine how pharmacotherapeutic follow up is related to the use of antimicrobials in pediatric patients hospitalized in the Pediatric Emergency Hospital during the year 2023-2024. Method: A quantitative study, applied type and relational level with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design, carried out with a sample of 292 medical records from a pediatric hospital in Lima. Results: The aspects of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up related to the use of antimicrobials are: age (30.9%), comorbidity history (21.1%), previous exposure to antimicrobials (19.9%), hospitalization diagnosis (40.4%), % of administered doses (32.9%), length of hospital stay (44.4%), time of ATM administration (42.1%), type of antimicrobial prescribed (55.5%), resistance pattern (21.1%). Conclusion: Pharmacotherapeutic follow-up is significantly related to the use of antimicrobials because it improves the understanding of the disease and its treatment.Publicación Acceso abierto Uso de métodos anticonceptivos y su relación con la salud mental en mujeres sexualmente activas que acuden al Centro de Salud Santa Magdalena Sofia, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-02-17) Arango Palomino, Kely Jhovanna; Yupanqui Urco, Elizabeth Dora; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective was to determine the relationship between the use of contraceptive methods and mental health in sexually active women who attend the Santa Magdalena Sofia Health Center, 2023. Method: Basic type study, hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive correlational level. The sample consisted of 206 sexually active women. The technique used was the survey and the measurement instrument was the questionnaire. The hypothesis was contrasted with the Chi-Square test. Results: it was observed that sexually active women first presented 100% use of barrier methods, emergency contraceptive use was 79.1% and the least used were hormonal contraceptives with 75.7%; A moderate (32.5%) and severe (32.5%) level of mental health was obtained; They presented a relationship of a moderate level of mental health using contraceptive methods 29.1%; 29.6% used hormonal contraceptives; 29.1% used emergency contraceptives and 13.1% used barrier methods (p=0.019<0.05). There is a relationship between sexually active women who used contraceptive methods and at the same time had a moderate level of mental health was 29.1%, as well as those who used contraceptive methods and at the same time had a serious level of mental health was 26.2%. Conclusion: Yes, there is a moderate relationship between the use of contraceptive methods and mental health in sexually active women.
