Iron deficiency anemia is about half of all causes of anemia cases, the other half is caused by inherited blood disorders or parasitic infections and malaria. We worked with the 2017 National Demographic Health Survey. The population was made up of children aged 0-59 months. The construction of the model proceeded in the following way, the individual characteristics (age, sex, birth number) and the proximal determinants such as place of origin, height, as well as an indicator variable of the mother such as educational level, together with the degrees of anemia (mild, moderate and severe). The results show The variables age of the child (p=0.000), altitude (p=0.000), were associated with severe anemia. The age of the child (p=0.000), a change between female or male sex (p=0.000), a change in birth order (p=0.025), change in urban or rural residence (p=0.005), the altitude (p=0.000), and the educational level of the mother (p=0.000), were associated with moderate anemia. The age of the child (p=0.000), a change between female or male sex (p=0.002), a change in birth order (p=0.003), change in urban or rural residence (p=0.000), the altitude (p=0.000), and the educational level of the mother (p=0.000), were associated with mild anemia. It is concluded with these results that these associated factors should be considered depending on the level of anemia.Ítem Acceso abierto Anthropometric and biochemical nutritional status in pre-surgical adult women with breast cancer at a specialized institute, 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-09) Sánchez Saldaña, Lourdes Elmina; Lozada Urbano, Michelle FátimaBreast cancer is the most common type among women and one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. This intervention demonstrates that the strategies applied allowed for the improvement of anemia and chronic malnutrition.Ítem Acceso abierto Concordance of nutritional risk methods in patients of a PNP Hospital - 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-22) Mora Negrón, Ambar Magaly; Dávila Córdova, Jennifer EstefaniaIntroduction: Currently there is no nutritional screening method considered to be of choice to identify the nutritional risk of hospitalized adult patients. According to evidence, the longer the period of hospital stay, the greater the risk of worsening malnutrition. The Cardona method and the NRS 2002 method are nutritional screening tools to detect Nutritional Risk that, in several studies in adults, have been shown to be the most appropriate due to their feasibility, specificity and predictive value. Objective: Compare the nutritional risk detected by the CARDONA method and NRS 2002 to identify if both tools are equivalent for clinical practice. Material and methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out with the observation technique in 30 hospitalized adults from a hospital in Lima, Peru. The CARDONA method and NRS 2002 were compared to each other to determine their agreement in detecting nutritional risk, using the Kappa index. Results: It was found that 23% have Nutritional Risk with the Cardona Method and 36.7% have Nutritional Risk with the NRS 2002 method. The age group that most frequently enters the PNP hospital is 45 to 64 years old and in mostly men. The comparison between both nutritional assessment tools showed an acceptable agreement (K=0.378), which means that the two tools are not strongly related, that is, they are different. Regarding the NRS 2002 variables, if the patient is seriously ill, if there is an association (Sig.=0.029) between the variable and the result by the NRS 2002 method. Regarding the variable deterioration of nutritional status in the final evaluation, if there is association between the characteristic deterioration of nutritional status and the result by the NRS method (Sig.=0.00). It is recommended to use either method due to its association with the results.Ítem Acceso abierto Consumption practices and nutritional status in women in the last trimester of pregnancy attended at Santa María del Socorro Hospital in Ica, November – December 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-17) Quijaite Alfaro, Patricia Edith; León Cáceres, Johanna del CarmenObservational, correlational, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. It should be noted that it is a type of cancer that is associated with obesity and eating patterns, and that could be related to a high consumption of fat in the diet. For this, the principles of evidence-based nutrition were used as a methodology. Likewise, a systematic search was carried out in 5 databases, Scopus, WOS, Pubmed, Embase and Science Direct, from the last 5 years, which allow us to answer the research question related to the consumption of high-fat diets, and the risk of colorectal cancer in adults. After the selection of articles, they were evaluated through a critical reading tool to determine the degree of recommendation and level of evidence. It was found that less adherence to a healthy diet such as the Mediterranean diet, or a reduction in foods rich in fiber, as well as a low consumption of dairy products or dietary calcium, is associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer, as is excess of alcohol and red meat.Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: diet risk factors associated with gastric cancer.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-02) Andamayo Arca, Nilber Nilton; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea LisbetIn our country, gastric cancer continues to be the second malignant neoplasm with the worst prognosis and the highest number of deaths. Therefore, the objective of this review was to know the risk factors that are associated with the development of gastric cancer, for this purpose the evidence-based nutrition (NUBE) methodology was used. The search strategy was developed with the keywords, and it was carried out in the Scopus, Embase, Pubmed and Cochrane Library databases. Of those, a total of 60 were obtained, of which 10 were selected for analysis through the CASPe tool, to be able to classify them according to degree of evidence and level of recommendation. The selected article was classified with an AI level of evidence and a strong recommendation; salt in the diet is an independent risk factor for the development of gastric cancer, just as alcohol consumption is more likely to be a risk factor. risk of excessive consumption. Likewise, red meat and a high-fat diet increase the risk, while fresh fruits, vegetables and certain micronutrients such as selenium and vitamin C have protective effects.
