Publicación Acceso abierto Abordaje terapéutico con relación a trastorno del sueño en personas mayores de 50 años que acuden al mercado monumental Puente Piedra(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2026-02-04) Oblitas Mejia, Yanina Yaneli; Jacinto Hervias, PedroEl objetivo fue determinar la relación del abordaje terapéutico con los trastornos del sueño en personas mayores de 50 años que acuden al Mercado Monumental. Método. Fueron 172 personas que participaron en el estudio, la encuesta se realizó una sola vez sin manipular las variables, se realizó análisis de frecuencia, la hipótesis se analizó con rho de Spearman, el estudio fue correlacional y básico. Resultados. El 23,3% de las mujeres y 19,8% de los varones presentaron trastornos del sueño, en abordaje terapéutico para trastorno del sueño el 25% usaban diazepam y/o alprazolam, 22,7% usaban infusión de valeriana, 40,7% mejoró su descanso nocturno, 51,7% mantenían rutina regular para dormir y despertar, 39,0% evitaba cafeína antes de acostarse, el 75% percibió que el seguimiento profesional no mejoró su calidad del sueño. En síntomas de trastornos del sueño el 54,1% percibió que el sueño no fue reparador, 69,2% se sintió cansado al despertar, 80,8% dormían menos de 6 horas, 60,5% tuvo dificultad para mantener el sueño, 41,9% despertó varias veces durante la noche, 14,5% sintió somnolencia durante el día, 34,3% tuvo dificultad para concentrarse y 10,5% afectó su rendimiento diario. El 68% de trastorno del sueño fue severo. Se observó diferencia significativa alta (p=0,000; rho=0,847) entre el abordaje terapéutico y trastorno del sueño. Conclusión. La correlación entre el abordaje terapéutico con los trastornos del sueño en personas mayores de 50 años del Mercado Monumental fue significativa directa y alta.Publicación Acceso abierto Accesibilidad de los medicamentos esenciales genéricos en oficinas farmacéuticas del distrito de Comas, Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-21) Guerrero Sifuentes, Abel Eduardo; Ramos Jaco, Antonio GuillermoCurrently, the Peruvian government has been implementing a series of strategies in the public health sector to ensure the optimal availability of essential medicines, from the first level of care to specialized institutes, aiming for full health coverage for the population. Essential generic medicines are of high priority to ensure public access as a public health right. The objective of this research was to evaluate the accessibility of essential generic medicines in terms of price and availability in pharmaceutical offices in the district of Comas, Lima, 2022. This is a study with a deductive-quantitative-descriptive methodology. The technique used was through data recording, validated by three experts in the field. The instrument applied was a data collection form, which gathered information on the availability and prices of 47 medicines listed as essential generic medicines, approved by Ministerial Resolution N°302-2020-MINSA, in a total of 73 pharmacies in the district of Comas from June to November 2022. The findings revealed a 91% availability of the entire list of medicines, with individual availability reaching 100% only for Captopril, Metformin, Naproxen, and Paracetamol solution. Regarding prices, variations ranged from 10% to 55%. Finally, it was concluded that the full list of essential generic medicines was not entirely available in the pharmacies in the district of Comas, and price variations showed up to a 55% coefficient of variation (CV).Publicación Acceso abierto Accesibilidad de los medicamentos esenciales genéricos en oficinas farmacéuticas del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho. This is an applied study with a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional observational design. The instrument used was a data collection form with the observational technique. Results: A 91% availability was found for the entire list of medicines, and a 100% availability was determined individually for Captopril, Metformin, Naproxen, and Paracetamol solution. Regarding prices, a variation ranging from 10% to 55% was found. Methodology: The research had a quantitative approach, basic type, with a descriptive level, non-experimental design, and cross-sectional scope. The study population consisted of 1,600 surveyed users, and the sample was probabilistic, resulting in 310 users. These users were evaluated using a research instrument validated by a panel of three experts on the topic and reliability measured through Cronbach's alpha, which had a good value (α = 0.868). Results: Data tabulation revealed that the level of acceptance of generic medications among users visiting the BTP pharmacy in Chaclacayo, Lima provinces, in 2022 was expressed as medium (84.8%). Similarly, the information level was medium (70%), the consumption level was medium (72.3%), the safety level was low (50%), and the access level was medium (60.6%). Metodología: Enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de investigación aplicada, diseño no experimental con método deductivo, caracterizado por un enfoque observacional y transversal. Población, 450 usuarios, Muestra, 207, muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple. Técnica la encuesta la cual fue de modo presencial. El instrumento aplicado fue un cuestionario. Se utilizó el software estadístico Office Excel para realizar el análisis de datos. Resultado: en relación a la aceptación y disponibilidad de medicamentos genéricos los encuestados indican que la aceptación de medicamentos genéricos es mayoritariamente en un nivel regular (49,76%), siendo que el 7,25% no los acepta. En cuanto al grado de aceptación, el 59,76% tiene un nivel regular, el 26,57% tiene un nivel bueno y sólo el 12,56% tiene un nivel malo. En cuanto a la frecuencia de aceptación, el 50.24% tiene un nivel regular, el 34.30% tiene un nivel bueno y solo el 15.46% tiene un nivel malo. En cuanto a disponibilidad y accesibilidad, el 29,95% tiene un nivel bueno en la dimensión consumo, el 54,11% tiene un nivel regular y el 15,94% tiene un nivel malo. The sample consisted of 267 people. A survey and a questionnaire were used as the technique and instrument, respectively. The data obtained were entered and processed using Excel and SPSS software, achieving a good reliability score of 0.810. The results showed that 77.9% of the respondents were between the ages of 31 and 59 years, 73.4% were female, and 60.3% had secondary education. The most consumed plants were chamomile (26.97%), followed by muña (19.10%), mint (13.11%), and lemongrass (11.61%). Regarding attitudes, 89.5% of the participants exhibited a positive attitude, and 10.5% had a neutral attitude. Conclusion: It was determined that individuals with gastrointestinal conditions who use medicinal plants as an alternative treatment have a positive attitude. Additionally, the various dimensions analyzed showed positive results, except for the dimensions of safety and efficacy, where the attitude was neutral.Publicación Acceso abierto Actitud y práctica del uso de plantas medicinales en usuarios de un mercado del distrito de Carabayllo, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-02-19) Aliaga Guadalupe, Gabriela Yolanda; Méndez Fernández, Yene Katherin; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe aim of the study was to ‘determine the relationship between the attitude and practice of using medicinal plants in users of a market’. The type of research was applied, hypothetico deductive, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational. The population consisted of the users of a market in the district of Carabayllo, with a sample of 385 users. As results, it was found that there is a relationship between the variable attitude towards the use of medicinal plants and the dimension type and form of use (Sig.=0.000) and the dimension motives for use (Sig.=0.000). There was also a relationship between the variable practices of medicinal plant use and the dimension beliefs and perceptions (Sig.=0.000), expectations of improvement (Sig.=0.000) and between the dimension costs and affordability (Sig.=0.022). It should be noted that there was no relationship between the attitude towards the use of medicinal plants and the dimension frequency of use (Sig.=0.211). Methodology: This was a hypothetical-deductive study with a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional type, basic research, correlational study, and a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 188 residents, and the instrument used was a questionnaire. Data processing was performed using the SPSS version 25 statistical program. Results: A relationship exists between overall attitudes and COVID-19 vaccination, with the value rs=0.560 indicating a moderate correlation. A relationship exists between experiences and COVID-19 vaccination, with the value rs=0.200 indicating a weak correlation. A relationship exists between emotions and COVID-19 vaccination, with the value rs=0.390 indicating a moderate correlation. A relationship exists between valuation and COVID-19 vaccination, with the value rs=0.502 indicating a moderate correlation. A relationship exists between risk perception and COVID-19 vaccination, with the value rs=0.556 indicating a moderate correlation. "Chuillur" en ratones(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-18) Picho Hurtado, Katheryn Elizabeth; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe investigation was carried out on the plant species Vallea stipularis L.f. “Chuillur,” located in the district of Tamburco-Abancay-Apurímac, traditionally used by the local population as medicine for the treatment of scurvy, as a cicatrizant, for gastritis, rheumatism, drastic purgative, and analgesic. Objective: To verify the analgesic activity of the ethanolic extract of the root of Vallea stipularis L.f. “Chuillur” in mice. Methods: The method of abdominal writhing induced by 0.8% acetic acid was employed. Forty-nine albino mice of the species Mus musculus strain Balb/C53/CNPB, of both sexes, were randomly distributed into seven groups. Ethanolic extracts at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg were used, as well as the standards Paracetamol Q.P. 300 mg/kg and Tramadol Hydrochloride Q.P. 40 mg/kg. These were administered orally, and 30 minutes later, 0.8% acetic acid was administered intraperitoneally. The animals were immediately observed for 20 minutes. Results: All groups showed a significant reduction (p value = 0.000), obtaining differentiated analgesic effects. The maximum effect was achieved with the 200 mg/kg extract, with 70% inhibition, surpassing Paracetamol (55%). In the present work, the analgesic activity of the ethanolic extract of the shells of the seeds of Persea americana Mill “Strong Avocado” was verified in albino mice. With the method of Koster et al Modified of writhings induced by 0.6% glacial acetic acid used as a writhing stimulant, the concentrations evaluated were 50, 100 and 200 mg / kg, of extract of the shells of the seeds Persea americana Mill “Strong Avocado”, compared with Tramadol 40 mg / kg and acetylsalicylic acid 200 mg / kg. Obtaining a percentage of reduction in contortions with acetylsalicylic acid 200 mg/kg 88%, Tramadol 40 mg/kg 94%, Persea americana Mill 100 mg/kg 88%, Persea americana Mill 200 mg/kg 94%. The root was macerated for 7 days in 70% ethanol. Solubility and qualitative analyses were performed, and the extract was determined to be soluble in polar solvents and to contain flavonoids and alkaloids. To determine the analgesic activity, the 0.8% glacial acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing model was used on 49 Balbin/C53/CNPB strain mice. The groups were a negative control (distilled water), a positive control (0.8% acetic acid), the ethanolic extract at 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg, and comparative standards of paracetamol (300 mg/kg) and tramadol (40 mg/kg). To determine the anti-inflammatory effect, the subplantar edema method was used, with dexamethasone (4 mg/kg) and diclofenac (50 mg/kg) as standard drugs. The evaluation of the extract's analgesic activity showed an effective dose of 100 mg/kg with 69% writhing inhibition. The anti-inflammatory activity was effective at a dose of 25 mg/kg, with an inhibition percentage evolving from 56% to 99% over a six-hour period.Publicación Acceso abierto Actividad analgésica y antiinflamatoria del extracto etanólico de las flores de Bidens andicola H.B.K. For the analgesic activity, the modified Koster et al. model was employed, and the study groups were: negative control (distilled water), positive control (0.8% glacial acetic acid), ethanolic extract of Bidens andicola H.B.K. “quiquo” flowers at 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, paracetamol 300 mg/kg, and tramadol 40 mg/kg. For the anti-inflammatory activity, the plantar edema method with 1% albumin was used, and the groups were: negative control (distilled water), ibuprofen 400 mg/kg, dexamethasone 1 mg/kg, and the ethanolic extract at 200, 400, and 600 mg/kg. The results show that the ethanolic extract of Bidens andicola H.B.K. “quiquo” flowers at 100 mg/kg (65%) and 200 mg/kg (70%) exhibits analgesic activity, lower than tramadol (91%) but comparable to paracetamol (81%). Regarding the anti-inflammatory activity, the ethanolic extract at 200, 400, and 600 mg/kg demonstrated efficacy, with the 600 mg/kg dose showing the greatest anti-inflammatory effect (100%), similar to dexamethasone and ibuprofen. It was confirmed that the ethanolic extract of Bidens andicola H.B.K. “quiquo” flowers possesses both analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities.Publicación Acceso abierto Actividad analgésica y antiinflamatoria del extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Passiflora edulis Sims "maracuyá"(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-03-06) Jalixto Alata, Sonia Carola; Salas Gutierrez, Cristina Angélica; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe species Passiflora edulis Sims, or "maracuyá," is a plant that grows in northern Peru, specifically in the Lima Department, Barranca Province, Supe district, in the Venado Muerto Ravine. This study aimed to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of the hydroalcoholic extract from the leaves of Passiflora edulis Sims. Methodology: A total of 56 Holtzmann strain rats of different sexes were used for the evaluation of inflammation. The rats were divided into 8 groups of seven animals. Inflammation was induced using the 0.1 mL albumin-induced plantar edema method, and the plantar volume was measured with a plethysmometer every hour for 6 hours. For the analgesic activity evaluation, the 0.8% acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing method was employed. A total of 49 Mus musculus strain mice of different sexes were divided into 7 groups of seven animals. The number of abdominal writhes was individually quantified over a 20-minute period. Results and Conclusion: The results demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity, as the 800 mg/kg hydroalcoholic extract inhibited the development of plantar edema with an effect of 100% within one hour of application, comparable to 4 mg of dexamethasone. The study also showed the analgesic activity of the 400 mg/kg hydroalcoholic extract, which achieved an effect of 70%.Publicación Acceso abierto Actividad Analgésica y Antiinflamatoria del Extracto Hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Ruellia graecizans Backer (Paque-paque) en ratones.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-27) Becerra Mejía, Einsten Román; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraEl presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la Actividad Analgésica y Antiinflamatoria del extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Ruellia graecizans Backer (Paque-paque) en ratones. La recolección de las hojas de la especie vegetal se realizó en el centro poblado el Rollo, distrito de Choros, provincia de Cutervo, departamento de Cajamarca, a una altitud de 1900 m.s.n.m. Se realizó la prueba de solubilidad y análisis cualitativo. Se utilizaron 84 ratones albinos con un peso corporal superior a 25 g de ambos sexos (cepa Balbin/C53/CNPB). Para determinar la actividad analgésica se utilizó el modelo de contorsiones abdominales por ácido acético glacial al 0,8 % (Koster y Col. Modificado), se utilizó el extracto de la especie vegetal en concentraciones de 50, 100 y 200 mg/kg y como estándar Paracetamol Q.P. 300 mg/kg y Tramadol 40 mg/kg, obteniendo como resultado que el extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Ruellia graecizans Backer (Paque-paque) presentan un mejor efecto analgésico a una concentración de 50 mg/kg con un porcentaje de inhibición de contorsiones de 81 % siendo comparable con el Paracetamol Q.P. 300 mg/kg. Para determinar la actividad antiinflamatoria se empleó el método del edema subplantar inducido por albumina 1 % (Winter et al. Modificado), se utilizó el extracto de la especie vegetal en concentraciones de 50, 100 y 150 mg/kg y como estándar Dexametasona 4 mg/kg y Diclofenaco 50 mg/kg, obteniendo como resultado que el extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Ruellia graecizans Backer (Paque-paque) a las 6 horas de estudio presenta un mayor efecto antiinflamatorio a una dosis de 50 mg/kg con un porcentaje de inflamación de 0,75 %.Publicación Acceso abierto Actividad analgésica y antiinflamatoria del extracto hidroalcólico de hojas y tallos de Leucheria daucifolia (D. Don.) Crisci “Churoq wasin”. For the analgesic activity, the model of abdominal writhing induced by 0.8% acetic acid was employed; 49 mice were used, and the evaluated groups were: negative control (distilled water), positive control (0.8% acetic acid), hydroalcoholic extract at 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg, compared with paracetamol 300 mg/kg and tramadol 40 mg/kg. For the anti-inflammatory effect, the auricular edema method was used with an irritant agent (6% xylene diluted in acetone) applied to the mouse auricle. A total of 49 albino mice were used, and the study groups were: vaseline cream, creams prepared with the hydroalcoholic extract at 0.5, 1 and 2%, compared with diclofenac 1% cream and hydrocortisone 1% cream. The results show that the hydroalcoholic extract of leaves and stems of Leucheria daucifolia (D. Don.) Crisci “Churoq wasin” at a dose of 100 mg/kg presents analgesic activity with an inhibition percentage of writhing of 62%, not surpassing tramadol (86%) but comparable to paracetamol (76%). Regarding anti-inflammatory activity, the cream with 2% extract presented an inhibition percentage of inflammation of 48.7%, which is comparable to hydrocortisone 1% and diclofenac 1%. The objective of this study was to determine the anxiolytic and antidepressant activity of the essential oil from the seeds of Foeniculum vulgare Mill., 'fennel,' in albino mice. Methodology: The methodology used was experimental, explanatory, quantitative, and applied. The seeds were collected in the province of Huarochirí (Matucana). The essential oil (EO) was extracted by hydrodistillation. The anxiolytic activity was evaluated using the marble burying method in 40 mice at oral doses of 2.5, 5, and 10 mL/kg of EO, compared to diazepam at 10 mg/kg. The antidepressant activity was evaluated using the forced swim test in 40 mice at oral doses of 2.5, 5, and 10 mL/kg of EO, compared to fluoxetine at 20 mg/kg. Results: The essential oil of Foeniculum vulgare showed antidepressant activity at the first two doses and anxiolytic activity at all three doses. Methodology: Anti-tyrosinase activity was determined with the thin-layer chromatographic method using a 0.05% Kojic acid standard. For the photoprotective effect, 35 female Mus musculus Balb/C53 strain mice, seven weeks old, were divided into five experimental groups. UV-C radiation was applied to their backs for 30 minutes once a day for one month. Acute photodamage was evaluated using the Draize scale, and photoaging was evaluated using the Glogau scale. Results: Secondary metabolites such as polyphenols and flavonoids were found. The extract was not toxic in mice via oral and dermal administration at a limit dose of 5000 mg/kg. It has anti-tyrosinase activity, and when applied in a 5% gel, the red variety showed a greater effect. It also has a photoprotective effect in mice subjected to UVC radiation. (“pomegranate”) has been used in traditional medicine since ancient times for the treatment of various diseases. Several studies have demonstrated its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, and antifungal properties, mainly from hydroalcoholic extracts of the peel. However, few studies have investigated pomegranate juice extracts using acetone and ethyl acetate. The aim of this research was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of acetone and ethyl acetate extracts from pomegranate juice. Antibacterial activity was assessed using the disk diffusion method. Four concentrations (200 mg/mL, 300 mg/mL, 400 mg/mL, and 500 mg/mL) of each extract were tested against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. Inhibition zones were qualitatively determined according to the Durafford scale for in vitro inhibitory effects in phytotherapy and CLSI antimicrobial standards. The results indicated that the acetone extract exhibited antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli. Furthermore, a comparative analysis revealed that microbial inhibition was inversely proportional to the quantification of ellagic acid. Kuntze ex Thell, “Canchalagua,” from the city of Ayacucho, was obtained at the Wholesale Market “La Parada,” district of La Victoria – Lima, and was subsequently taxonomically classified at the Natural History Museum of the Universidad de San Marcos. The sample was cleaned and dried at the Research Center of the Universidad Norbert Wiener, where the parts of the plant—stem, root, leaves, and flowers—were separated. Hydroalcoholic extracts of each part were prepared, and the phytoconstituents present were identified, such as flavonoids, reducing sugars, phenolic compounds, and carbohydrates. For the microbiological test, the Disk Diffusion method was used with blood agar medium and the Propionibacterium acnes strain (ATCC® 11827). Standard antibiotics Q.P.: Doxycycline, Levofloxacin, Azithromycin, and Penicillin were employed. The Objective of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity against Cutibacterium acnes and the antioxidant activity of the hydroalcoholic extracts from the leaves, flowers, stem, and root of Hypericum silenoides Juss, 'Canchalagua.' The Method employed consisted of preparing the hydroalcoholic extracts of the leaves, flowers, stem, and root of Hypericum silenoides Juss, followed by a solubility test and qualitative analysis to identify the metabolites. To determine the antibacterial activity against Cutibacterium acnes (ATCC 6919), the disk diffusion method was performed. For antioxidant activity, the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical method was used for evaluation. Results: The microbiological assay showed that the positive control group presented a larger diameter of the inhibition halo compared to the plant species extracts studied. The hydroalcoholic extract of the flowers showed greater antibacterial activity compared to the extracts of the leaves, stem, and root. The hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of Hypericum silenoides Juss, 'Canchalagua,' presented the highest antioxidant activity with an IC50 of 54.53 µg/mL, followed by the hydroalcoholic extract of the flowers with an IC50 of 57.05 µg/mL, compared to the control (Trolox) with a p < 0.05. Conclusion: The hydroalcoholic extracts of the leaves, flowers, stem, and root have antibacterial activity against Cutibacterium acnes and antioxidant activity.
