Ítem Acceso abierto Family functionality and aggressiveness in high school students from a private educational institution in Lima, 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-07-23) Quique Torres, Angela Mercedes; La Torre Calderón, Helarf RogelioThe research aimed to understand the relationship between family functioning and aggression in secondary school students from a private institution in Lima. The study had a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 453 students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th year of secondary school, aged between 14 and 18. The instruments used were the Family Cohesion and Adaptability Evaluation Scale (FACES III) and the Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) by Buss and Perry. The results indicated a significant inverse relationship between the study variables (p < 0.05; r = -0.115). Similarly, an inverse relationship was found for physical aggression (p < 0.05; r = -0.115) and hostility (p < 0.05; r = -0.159) with family functioning. No correlation was found between family functioning and the other two dimensions of aggression: verbal aggression (p > 0.05; r = -0.007) and anger (p > 0.05; r = -0.052). It was inferred that students with adequate family functioning would develop lower levels of aggression.Ítem Acceso abierto Family functioning and aggressiveness in adolescents from the self-managed urban community Huaycán - Lima, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-27) Flores López, Lucero Camila; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThis study aimed to determine the relationship, as a correlation, between family functionality and aggressiveness in adolescents from the urban self-managed community of Huaycán, Ate district, Lima, 2021.Ítem Acceso abierto Internet addiction and academic procrastination in adolescent students from an educational institution in Lima Sur(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-02) Navarro Pereira, Cori; Paico Ruiz, Marcos JoséThe objective of the study was to determine the relationship between internet addiction and academic procrastination. The methodology was basic, with a non-experimental design and a correlational scope. The sample consisted of 200 students from 1st to 5th year of secondary school in an educational institution in South Lima. The Internet Addiction Scale (EAIL) by Lam et al. (2010) and the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA) by Busko (1998) were used. The results found that internet addiction and academic procrastination are positively correlated (rho = .162). Additionally, it was found that internet addiction is associated with dimensions of academic procrastination such as academic self-regulation (rho = -.250) and task delay (rho = .242). Based on these findings, it is concluded that excessive use of the internet is related to procrastination in adolescents.Ítem Acceso abierto Intra-family relationships and antisocial behavior in institutionalized adolescents, Lima, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-03) Pérez Aguilar, Eysaboe Catherine; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThis study aimed to determine the relationship between the quality of intrafamily relationships and antisocial behavior in institutionalized adolescents in Lima in 2022. The methodology was based on a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design. Two instruments were applied: the Intrafamily Relationship Evaluation Scale (E.R.I.) and the Childhood and Adolescent Antisocial Behavior Questionnaire (CASIA) to a sample of 112 institutionalized adolescents. The main data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rho correlation, revealing a correlation coefficient of -.631 with statistical significance of p < .05 and an effect size of .398. This result indicates a significant relationship between the quality of intrafamily relationships and antisocial behavior in the studied adolescents. In conclusion, it was found that the quality of intrafamily relationships plays an important role in adolescent antisocial behavior. Specifically, adolescents who maintain strong and healthy family relationships tend to exhibit fewer antisocial behaviors. This suggests that strengthening family relationships can be an effective strategy to mitigate antisocial behavior in institutionalized adolescents.Ítem Acceso abierto Parenting styles and emotional intelligence in adolescents from a public educational institution in the district of Comas, 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-10) Reyes Guerrero, Ayrton; Tamayo Toro, Mónica AlexandraThe primary goal of this research was to identify the association between authoritarian, democratic, mixed, permissive, and neglectful parenting styles and emotional intelligence in adolescents at a public school in the Comas district, 2021. This was a basic research study with a quantitative approach, correlational scope, and non-experimental design. Two instruments were administered: the Brief Personality Questionnaire of the Five-Factor Model (CBP-LRC) and the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11). The most prevalent personality trait was agreeableness (M = 14.68), followed by responsibility (M = 14.59) and extraversion (M = 14.41). Regarding impulsivity, the majority were at a regular level (90.2%). Correlation calculations showed that the traits agreeableness (rs = -.299, p = .000) and responsibility (rs = -.206, p = .017) had an inverse relationship with impulsivity, while emotional instability (rs = .382, p = .000) showed a direct relationship. It was concluded that higher agreeableness and responsibility lead to lower impulsivity, while greater emotional instability leads to higher impulsivity.
