Materials and Methods: The inductive-deductive method was used for this basic research, which has a quantitative approach and a descriptive design. The SISCO academic stress instrument by Barraza, adapted by Alania, Llancari, Rafaele, and Ortega (2020), was applied. This instrument consisted of 47 items and three dimensions (stressors, symptoms, coping strategies), with a reliability of 0.88 in Cronbach's alpha. Additionally, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) by Ahorsu (2020), composed of 7 items and two dimensions (emotional fear reactions and fear expressions), was used. Regarding the main problem, it was observed that the academic stress variable had 64.29% representing a medium level, while the fear of contracting coronavirus variable showed 78.6%, representing a high level. Conclusions: The research reveals significant levels of academic stress and fear of contracting coronavirus, influenced by the ongoing health crisis we are currently experiencing.Ítem Acceso abierto Academic stress and resilience in nursing international students of a private university, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-14) Jaramillo Blanco, Gabriela Yesenia; Cabrera Espezua, Jeannelly PaolaObjective: To determine the relationship between academic stress and resilience in nursing interns at a private university, Lima 2023. This term was coined in 1974 by Herbert J. Freudenberger, a psychoanalyst, in response to the intense professional lives of healthcare workers. This overload of stress jeopardizes their health, affecting their relationships in the workplace, and impacting them psychologically and mentally. As the condition progresses, it deteriorates mental faculties, leading individuals to feel worthless, causing confusion in the workplace and resulting in poor care for patients. Maslach and S. Jackson (1981) studied this syndrome as a situation in which an individual, as a person and as part of the psyche, reflects a state of anxiety or decline in their work. This syndrome is particularly prevalent among those who have caregiving roles, and it is described through three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and lack of personal accomplishment.Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome among intensive care unit nurses at a MINSA hospital in Metropolitan Lima – 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-06) Flores Téllez, Angela Marjory; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoThe objective of this research project is to determine the level of Burnout Syndrome in the nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit of a Minsa hospital in metropolitan Lima, evaluating the three dimensions of burnout: Psychological Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Personal Accomplishment.
