Introducción: La depresión se presenta como una de las situaciones de salud mental con mayor incidencia en la población adulta mayor, ocasionando un impacto significativo en su equilibrio emocional y la interacción social. La pérdida de independencia y la insatisfacción personal impactan significativamente en la calidad de vida de los individuos. En tal sentido, resulta esencial orientar las intervenciones que contribuyan con la promoción de un envejecimiento saludable, activo y equilibrado. Por ello, en el presente estudio se plantea como objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre la depresión y la calidad de vida en el adulto mayor de un Centro de Salud Mental Comunitario de Huánuco, 2025. Metodología: Será desarrollado bajo el método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, y corte transeccional. La muestra estará constituida por 30 individuos en la etapa de adultez avanzada. Los datos serán recopilados mediante la “Escala de Depresión Geriátrica de Yesavage y el cuestionario de calidad de vida WHOQOL-OLD”. Ambos cuentan con validez y confiabilidad a nivel nacional. Los resultados obtenidos serán analizados estadísticamente a través del SPPS, y se usarán pruebas no paramétrica rho de Spearman para realizar el contraste de la hipótesis y la determinación de la compensación entre las variables de estudio, y la visualización de los resultados será en tablas y figuras.
Resumen
Introduction: Depression is presented as one of the mental health conditions with the highest incidence in the older adult population, causing a significant impact on their emotional balance and social interaction. The loss of independence and personal dissatisfaction significantly affect individuals' quality of life. In this sense, it is essential to guide interventions that contribute to the promotion of healthy, active, and balanced aging. Therefore, the objective of the present study is: To determine the relationship that exists between depression and quality of life in older adults of a Community Mental Health Center in Huánuco, 2025. Methodology: It will be developed under the hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, non-experimental design, and cross sectional scope. The sample will consist of 30 individuals in the stage of late adulthood. Data will be collected through the “Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale and the WHOQOL-OLD quality of life questionnaire.” Both have validity and reliability at the national level. The results obtained will be statistically analyzed through SPSS, and non-parametric Spearman’s rho tests will be used to test the hypothesis and determine the correlation between the study variables, and the visualization of the results will be presented in tables and figures.
