The objective of this study was to evaluate the dermal irritation safety profile in vitro using the HET-CAM method and the wound-healing activity of magistral formulations prepared with the hydroalcoholic extract from the leaves of Oenothera rosea Ait. ('Chupa Sangre'). This was done through an experimental prospective method, developed in the laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at Wiener University. Method: The HET-CAM method was employed to evaluate irritant activity, and incised wounds on albino rats were used to determine wound-healing activity. The presence of secondary metabolites was determined in the plant species. Gels at concentrations of 1% and 0.5% were prepared, demonstrating that they are mild irritants (I.I. 2.66 and 4.38). For the wound-healing activity, four working groups, each consisting of 8 rats, were formed. The results demonstrated that the 0.5% and 1% concentrations presented good wound-healing performance; however, the positive control achieved better healing. Conclusion: The hydroalcoholic extract from the leaves of Oenothera rosea Ait., 'Chupa Sangre,' presents a good safety profile and wound-healing activity.
Resumen
El presente estudio se presenta como objetivo evaluar el perfil de seguridad de irritación dérmica in vitro mediante el método Het - Cam. Y actividad cicatrizante de formulaciones magistrales elaboradas con el extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Chupa Sangre (Oenothera rosea Ait.) Mediante el método experimental prospectivo, desarrollado en el laboratorio de la Facultad de Farmacia y bioquímica de la Universidad Wiener. Para evaluar la actividad irritante se empleó el método de HET-CAM y para determinar la actividad cicatrizante se realizo heridas incisas en ratas albinas, en la especie vegetal se ha determinado la presencia de metabolitos secundarios, Se prepararon geles de concentración de 1% y 0.5% demostrando que son irritantes leves (I.I. 2,66 y 4.38) para la actividad cicatrizante se formaron 4 grupos de trabajo constituido por 8 ratas cada grupo, se demostró que para la actividad cicatrizante de las concentraciones (0,5%) y (1%) presentaron buen performance cicatrizante, sin embargo, el control positivo alcanzo una mejor cicatrización. Se concluye que extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Oenothera rosea Ait. “Chupa Sangre” presenta buen perfil de seguridad y actividad cicatrizante.
