Nivel de conocimientos y actitudes frente a la donación de sangre en estudiantes de enfermería en una Universidad Privada de Lima, 2025

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación fue “Examinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y las posturas hacia la donación de sangre en estudiantes del programa de enfermería”. La investigación fue de naturaleza cuantitativa, observacional y transeccional. Se trató de una investigación aplicada, de alcance descriptivo y correlacional; la población objetivo la conformaron por alumnos de la carrera de enfermería de una institución superior privada; se emplearon herramientas para medir el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud hacia la donación de sangre. Los resultados revelaron que, el 67% tiene un conocimiento, el 18,2% conocimiento bueno y el 14,8% deficiente; respecto a la actitud, el 72,7% indiferente, el 14,8% favorable y el 12,5% actitud desfavorable. El estudio llegó a la conclusión de que hay una buena correlación entre el conocimiento y la actitud hacia la donación de sangre (rho=0,733; p=0,013), lo que sugiere que los estudiantes con un nivel de conocimiento elevado tienen una actitud más positiva hacia la donación sanguínea. También se hallaron correlaciones estadísticamente significativas entre las dimensiones: saber sobre tejidos sanguíneos (rho=0.763; p=0.048), saber sobre transfusión sanguínea (rho=0.836; p=0.039), saber sobre donación (rho=0,744; p=0,023) y saber sobre la función del enfermero en la donación de sangre (rho=0,731; p=0,025).

The purpose of this research is to ‘examine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards blood donation among nursing students.’ The research was quantitative, observational, and cross-sectional in nature. It was applied research, descriptive and correlational in scope; the target population consisted of nursing students at a private higher education institution; tools were used to measure the level of knowledge and attitude towards blood donation. The results revealed that 67% had knowledge, 18.2% had good knowledge, and 14.8% had poor knowledge. Regarding attitude, 72.7% were indifferent, 14.8% were favourable, and 12.5% were unfavourable. The study concluded that there is a good correlation between knowledge and attitude towards blood donation (rho=0.733; p=0.013), suggesting that students with a high level of knowledge have a more positive attitude towards blood donation. Statistically significant correlations were also found between the dimensions: knowledge about blood tissues (rho=0.763; p=0.048), knowledge about blood transfusion (rho=0.836; p=0.039), knowledge about donation (rho=0.744; p=0.023) and knowledge about the role of nurses in blood donation (rho=0.731; p=0.025).
