| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and aggressive behaviors in secondary school students at a public school in Lima, Peru, in 2025. The research employed a non-experimental, hypothetical-deductive design with a quantitative, cross-sectional approach and an explanatory scope based on a multiple linear regression model. The sample consisted of 300 students of both sexes from a public educational institution. Data collection instruments included the Stanley Coppersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (SEI), school version adapted by Mesías; the Baron Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi-YV), Peruvian adaptation by Nelly Ugarriza Chávez and Liz Pajares; and the Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) (1992), adapted by Matalinares et al. (2012). Data analysis was performed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests. Structural equation modeling was also used to identify associations between the variables. Finally, it was concluded that both emotional intelligence and self-esteem have negative predictive effects on aggressive behavior, with emotional intelligence being the most influential factor (β = -0.32) compared to self-esteem (β = -0.20). These results highlight the importance of developing emotional skills as a key strategy in preventing school aggression. | en_US |
