Resumen
The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between depression and quality of life in the elderly in a center for the elderly in Lima. The methodology: it was non-experimental of a descriptive-correlational type. The sample included elderly participants of both sexes between 60 and 80 years of age. Instruments such as the geriatric depression scale according to yesavage and the quality-of-life scale (WHOQOL-BREF) were used, which allowed measuring the study variables. The main results, based on national and international antecedents, are expected to be statistically and significantly related between depression and quality of life, said relationship should be inverse; that is, the lower the depression, the higher the quality of life or vice versa. In conclusion, it is important to carry out this study, since it provides updated data on the problems that afflict students within a regular basic institution.
Resumen
El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre depresión y calidad de vida en adultos mayores del centro de atención Lima. La metodología, fue no experimental de tipo descriptivo –correlacional. La muestra conto con participantes adulto mayor de ambos sexos 60 a 80 años. Se utilizará instrumentos como la escala de depresión geriátrica según yesavage la escala de calidad de vida (WHOQOL-BREF), las cuales permitieron medir las variables de estudio. Los resultados principales en base de los antecedente nacionales e internacionales, se espera que se relacione estadística y significativamente entre depresión y calidad de vida, dicha relación deberá ser inversa; es decir, que a menor depresión a mayor calidad de vida o viceversa. En conclusión, es importante realizar este estudio, ya que brinda datos actualizados sobre la problemática que aqueja a los alumnos dentro de una institución básica regular
