During childhood, different oral iron preparations are they are widely used in iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and prophylaxis. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of different oral iron preparations in children with Anemia. Eighty-nine children (age range, 1 to 17 years) with Anemian were randomly assigned to receive oral therapy in two divided doses of 5 mg Fe2+/kg/day ferrous sulfate (group FS, n = 45) or ferrous fumarate plus zinc and vitamin C (FZ group, n = 44). The hematological profile and iron status were evaluated start and days 15 and 45 of treatment
Resumen
Durante la niñez, diferentes preparaciones de hierro oral se utilizan ampliamente en la anemia ferropénica (IDA) y profilaxis. El propósito de este estudio fue comparar la eficacia de diferentes preparaciones de hierro oral en niños con Anemia. Ochenta y nueve niños (rango de edad, 1 a 17 años) con Anemia fueron asignados al azar para recibir terapia por vía oral en dos dosis divididas de 5 mg Fe2 + / kg / día de sulfato ferroso (grupo FS, n = 45) o fumarato ferroso más zinc y vitamina C (grupo FZ, n = 44).
