Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing care of the peripheral venous catheter and the degree of phlebitis in patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a National Hospital in Lima, 2023. Methods: The study will use the hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental, cross-sectional, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational design. The population and sample will be made up of 30 nurses, the sampling being non-probabilistic for convenience. For data processing and analysis, the collected information will first be ordered, then the coding will be carried out, once the data is collected, the data will be organized according to their study variables, the data will be processed using the Microsoft Excel program and the SPSS statistical software to generate tables and/or graphs by dimensions and indicators of the study of the first variable, nursing care of the peripheral venous catheter and of the second variable, degree of phlebitis in critically ill patients; likewise, to determine the relationship between the variables, the Spearman Statistical Correlation Test (Rho) will be applied.
Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre los cuidados de enfermería del catéter venoso periférico y el grado de flebitis en pacientes en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de un Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2023. Métodos: El estudio se utilizará el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, transversal, de corte transversal, descriptivo y correlacional. La población y muestra estará conformada por 30 enfermeros, siendo el muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Para el procesamiento y análisis de datos, primero se ordenará la información recolectada, luego se llevará a cabo la codificación, una vez recolectados los datos se organizará los datos de acuerdo a sus variables de estudio, los datos se procesarán utilizando el programa Microsoft Excel y el software estadístico SPSS para generar tablas y/o gráficos por dimensiones e indicadores del estudio de la primera variable cuidados de enfermería del catéter venoso periférico y de la segunda variable grado de flebitis del paciente crítico; asimismo, para determinar la relación entre las variables se aplicará la Prueba Estadística de Correlación de Spearman (Rho).
