Type of quantitative study, study design, systematic review, population 35 articles, sample 10 articles on the effectiveness of the use of antibiotics in sealing central venous catheters to reduce the risk of infection in hemodialysis patients, extracted from databases such as Lilacs , Cochrane Plus, Pubmed, Medline and Epistemonikos. 06 Meta-analysis, 02 Systematic Review, 02 Randomized Clinical Trials were included; Of the evidence found, 30% come from Canada, 20% from the United States and 10% from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Israel, Belgium and Chile respectively, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation and the quality of evidence. . It is concluded that sealing the central venous catheter with antibiotic was effective in reducing the risk of infection in patients on hemodialysis since it was shown to reduce the incidence by 90% compared to sealing with 10% heparin. Of the total number of articles, 9 out of 10 demonstrate the effectiveness of the use of antibiotics in central venous catheter sealing to reduce the risk of infection in patients on hemodialysis, because it was shown to reduce episodes of catheter-related bacteremia compared to heparin sealing. and reduced bacterial resistance in tunneled catheter.

Tipo de estudio cuantitativo, diseño de estudio revisión sistemática, población 35 artículos, muestra 10 artículos sobre la eficacia del uso de antibióticos en el sellado de catéter venoso central para disminuir el riesgo de infección en pacientes en hemodiálisis, extraídos de bases de datos como Lilacs, Cochrane Plus, Pubmed, Medline y Epistemonikos. Se incluyó 06 Meta-análisis, 02 Revisión Sistemática, 02 Ensayos Clínicos Aleatorizados; de las evidencias encontradas el 30% proceden de Canadá, el 20% de Estados Unidos y el 10% a Reino Unido, Países Bajos, Israel, Bélgica y Chile respectivamente, utilizando el sistema GRADE para asignar la fuerza de recomendación y la calidad de evidencia. Se concluye que el sellado de catéter venoso central con antibiótico fue eficaz en la disminución del riesgo de infección en pacientes en hemodiálisis ya que demostró disminuir la incidencia en un 90% frente al sellado con heparina 10%. Del total de artículos, 9 de 10 evidencian la eficacia del uso de antibióticos en el sellado de catéter venoso central para disminuir el riesgo de infección en pacientes en hemodiálisis, porque demostró reducir los episodios de bacteriemias relacionadas al catéter en comparación con el sellado de heparina y redujo la resistencia bacteriana en catéter tunelizado.
