Resumen
The secondary research titled "Vitamin A, D, and E Deficiency in Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis" aimed to provide a critical review based on scientific literature regarding the deficiency of vitamins A, D, and E in patients with sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis. The clinical question was: Is there a deficiency of vitamins A, D, and E in patients with sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) methodology was used, with information sourced from PUBMED, MEDLINE, SCIELO, and SCIENCE DIRECT. A total of 27 articles were found, 11 of which were selected and evaluated using the CASPe critical reading tool. The systematic review titled "Potential Role of Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E in TB Treatment and Prevention: A Narrative Review," with evidence level AII and a strong recommendation grade, was selected. The critical review concluded that the use of vitamins improves the quality of life and nutritional status of tuberculosis patients, directly or indirectly, against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
