Effectiveness of sublingual immunotherapy in asthma patients for reducing exacerbations

Resumen
The type of research of this study was quantitative with a systematic review design. The population was made up of 27 studies and the sample was made up of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases. After the systemic review, it is concluded that 10 of the 10 articles show that sublingual immunotherapy is effective and safe in patients with asthma, reduces exacerbations, improves bronchial hypersensitivity, produces sustained symptomatic clinical improvement and reduces the use of medication. It is shown that it has been a feasible treatment, it reduces attendance at emergency services, hospital admissions, and improves quality of life.
Resumen
El tipo de investigación del presente estudio fue cuantitativo con un diseño de revisión sistemática. La población estuvo constituida por 27 estudios y la muestra por 10 artículos científicos publicados e indizados en las bases de datos científicos. Posterior a la revisión sistémica, se concluye que 10 de los 10 artículos evidencian que la inmunoterapia sublingual es efectivo y seguro en los pacientes con asma, reduce las exacerbaciones, mejora la hipersensibilidad bronquial, produce mejoría clínica sintomática sostenida y disminuye el uso de medicación, se demuestra que ha sido un tratamiento factible, reduce la asistencia a los servicios de urgencias, los ingresos hospitalarios, y mejora la calidad de vida.
