Knowledge and compliance with the biosafety protocol for COVID-19 in the nursing staff of the Hospital Base II Moquegua - Essalud 2022

The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance with the biosafety protocol for COVID-19 of the nursing staff of the Hospital Base II Moquegua - EsSalud, 2022. It was a study with a hypothetical-deductive method with quantitative approach, applied type and non-experimental design. A total of 80 nurses from the Hospital Base II Moquegua-Essalud participated in the study, to whom a questionnaire was applied to measure the level of knowledge and for the compliance variable, a checklist was used and evaluated through observation. Among the most outstanding results, it was possible to show that 56.25% and 81.3% presented a high level of knowledge and compliance, respectively. At the time of performing the correlation, no statistically significant values were found for any of the dimensions of knowledge in relation to compliance with the protocol. In this sense, it is concluded that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance with the biosafety protocol for COVID-19 in the nurses of the Moquegua-EsSalud Base II Hospital.
Resumen
El objetivo principal del presente estudio fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento con el cumplimiento del protocolo de bioseguridad para COVID-19 del personal de enfermería del Hospital Base II Moquegua- Essalud, 2022. Se trató de un estudio con método hipotético- deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y diseño no experimental. En el estudio participaron 80 enfermeras del Hospital Base II Moquegua- Essalud a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario para medir el nivel de conocimiento y para la variable cumplimiento se utilizó una lista de cotejo y se evaluó mediante la observación. Entre los resultados más resaltantes se pudo evidenciar que el 56.25% y el 81.3% presentaron un nivel de conocimiento y cumplimiento alto respectivamente. Al momento de realizar la correlación no se encontraron valores estadísticamente significativos para ninguna de las dimensiones del conocimiento en relación al cumplimiento del protocolo. En este sentido se concluye que no hay relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y el cumplimiento del protocolo de bioseguridad para Covid-19 en las enfermeras del Hospital Base II Moquegua- Essalud.
