Resumen
Currently, a global challenge is being faced to overcome this health crisis, as since the outbreak of pneumonia of unknown causes was detected in the city of Wuhan, China, important studies have been conducted to provide knowledge and counteract this new virus, COVID-19. The factors predisposing patients to a severe state during COVID-19 include variables such as age (over 65 years), heart and vascular diseases, chronic kidney disease, chronic lung diseases, diabetes mellitus, obesity, neoplasms, immunosuppression, and pregnancy. The pandemic has caused high lethality in the Lambayeque region, overwhelming hospitals. Certainly, it is everyone's task to contribute to stopping the outbreaks that have emerged in such a short time; therefore, the general population is advised to follow all recommendations to prevent infection. Hematological testing is one of the most important laboratory tests, which through a complete blood count can identify imbalances in the patient's body and help determine the appropriate treatment. This research aims to relate hematological parameters and COVID-19 severity in people over 60 years old treated at the HNAAA Essalud Chiclayo laboratory from January to April 2021.
Resumen
Actualmente a nivel mundial se viene enfrentando un desafío para remontar esta crisis sanitaria, ya que desde que se detectó un brote de neumonía de causas desconocidas iniciada en la ciudad de Wuhan, China, se ha venido realizando estudios importantes con la finalidad de brindar conocimientos y así poder contrarrestar a este nuevo virus covid-19. Los elementos que predisponen al paciente durante el covid-19 llevándolos a un estado grave son aquellas variables como la edad (mayores de 65 años), enfermedades cardiacas y vasculares, renal crónica, pulmonar crónica, diabetes mellitus, obesidad, neoplasias, inmunosupresión y gravidez. La pandemia ha ocasionado alta letalidad en la región Lambayeque colapsando los hospitales, ciertamente, es tarea de todos contribuir para detener los brotes que han surgido en tan poco tiempo; por ello se aconseja a la población en general que siga todas las recomendaciones para prevenir el contagio. La biometría hemática es una de las pruebas de laboratorio más importantes que por medio de un examen de hemograma completo puede identificarse desequilibrios en el organismo del paciente y facilita la determinación del tratamiento adecuado. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo general relacionar la biometría hemática y severidad por covid 19 en adultos mayores de 60 años atendidos en el laboratorio del HNAAA Essalud Chiclayo – enero a abril del 2021.
