About 39% engaged in independent work, primarily as merchants. A total of 36% and 23% initiated their prenatal care in the second and third trimesters, respectively. Among the participants, 193 had fewer than six prenatal check-ups, while only 75 had six or more, which is the minimum required to consider a pregnancy adequately monitored. Regarding knowledge, over 60% of the participants demonstrated very good knowledge about prenatal examinations, nutrition, relaxation exercises (psychoprophylaxis), warning signs, and complications. Concerning attitudes, more than 45% fully agreed on aspects such as perceived beliefs, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and cues to action. Conclusions: The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were women aged 18 to 29 years, with one child, married, with primary education, and engaged in independent work. Most began prenatal care in the first trimester, with an average of one prenatal check-up. The level of knowledge about prenatal care among the pregnant women was classified as "very good," and their attitudes were classified as "fully agreeable."Ítem Acceso abierto Sexual behaviors of pregnant women attended at Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, 2013(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-05) Cachique Oliveira, Suzeti Margarita; Orderique Torres, Luis FernandoObjective: To determine the sexual behaviors of pregnant women who attended the Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis service at Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho in 2013. Materials and Methods: Causal explanatory cross-sectional study. The survey technique was used, and the instrument was the questionnaire developed by Blitchtein and Reyes (2012). The sample consisted of 140 pregnant women, of whom 70 were adolescents and 70 were adults. Results: The prevalence of violence among pregnant women was 52.9%. Pregnant adolescents with experiences of violence accounted for 41.9%, while adult pregnant women accounted for 58.1%. The risk factors most strongly associated were being a housewife (p > 0.032) and having a partner who controls and/or limits the woman’s work, studies, and visits to family or friends (p > 0.044). Other associated factors included a history of parental aggression (p > 0.0121) and the type of relationship with the partner (p > 0.0239). Conclusions: The prevalence of physical and psychological violence was higher among adult pregnant women. Risk factors include sociodemographic aspects, individual factors, and relationships with partners, which are linked to physical and psychological violence in both adolescent and adult pregnant women. These aspects require a collective effort to address them with professionalism and social responsibility.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of perception of users about the quality of care in the family planning clinic, Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, between the months of November - December 2014(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-06) Aguilar Huamán, Yaneth Rosilú; Ayala Mendivil, Ronald EspirituObjective: To determine the level of perception among users regarding the quality of care in the family planning clinic at Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, between November and December 2014. Several studies have observed that adolescents possess knowledge about contraception issues, but this knowledge is incomplete or incorrect. Over the years, teenage pregnancy rates have also varied and increased. This information demonstrates a clear need to provide counseling and guidance services through Reproductive Health and Family Planning for this human group. Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge and attitudes toward contraceptive methods in adolescents from the Educational Institution Nº. 5127 Mártir José Olaya, located in AA.HH. José Olaya - Pachacutec. Methodology: The study is descriptive and cross-sectional. The study population consists of a total of 219 third, fourth, and fifth-year secondary school students from I.E. Mártir José Olaya. The instrument used is a questionnaire survey to assess attitudes and knowledge about the use of contraceptive methods, which will be frequently applied to adolescents attending the institution. The survey consists of three parts: General information: (03 items). Level of knowledge: (8 items). Level of attitudes: (8 items). The corresponding results will be processed. Results: The applied survey determined that secondary school students from I.E. have a low level of knowledge, with attitudes toward risk situations that hinder their psychosocial development. Adolescents reported that having a child at an early age primarily means taking on more responsibility and maturity in this new stage of their lives.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the educational program: "Sexual education and healthy communities" in 4th and 5th-year high school adolescents at Institución Educativa Tungasuca – Carabayllo, 2014(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-07) López Infantes, Jacqueline; Melgar Vega, Katherine Dayllan; Orderique Torres, Luis FernandoObjective: To determine the effectiveness of the Educational Program "Sexual Education and Healthy Communities" on the level of knowledge and attitudes regarding sexual and reproductive health in 4th- and 5th-year high school adolescents.
