Ítem Acceso abierto Activities of daily living and anxiety in patients with neurodegenerative diseases in the Peruvian association of multiple sclerosis. Lima-Peru-2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-22) Varela Rios, Omar Jhoel; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioPatients with neurodegenerative diseases, specifically multiple sclerosis, experience difficulty in daily activities as the pathology progresses, causing them to lose their motor skills, making even simple tasks like sitting or drinking a glass of water very challenging. On the other hand, anxiety intensifies because the patient feels clumsy and no longer useful to their family environment.Ítem Acceso abierto Adherence to physiotherapeutic treatment and upper limb disability in hemiplegic patients at the OMAPED Chupaca, Junín 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-23) Palomino Alva, Mayra Antonella; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyThe aim of this research is to determine the relationship between adherence to physiotherapeutic treatment and upper limb disability in hemiplegic patients at OMAPED Chupaca, Junín in 2023. Materials and Methods: This is a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive-correlational, and cross-sectional study. The sample will consist of 50 users from OMAPED Chupaca, Junín. The instruments used will be SMAN 1.0 to measure adherence to neurorehabilitation processes in adults and DASHe, the Disability Arm, Shoulder, and Hand Questionnaire. Data will be recorded in a sheet that meets the validation and reliability processes for the study. Results: It was found that 54% of the users have a medium level of adherence, 32% have a low level, and 14% have a satisfactory level of adherence to the rehabilitation treatment. As for upper limb disability, 22% show moderate difficulty, and 78% show severe difficulty. Among the users, 27 are women and 23 are men. The relationship between the variables of adherence to physiotherapeutic treatment and upper limb disability, measured by the Spearman Rho test rs = -0.828, shows a high negative correlation between the two. Conclusion: There is a significant inverse relationship between the study variables, meaning that greater adherence to physiotherapeutic treatment leads to less upper limb disability.Ítem Acceso abierto Aerobic capacity and peripheral muscle strength in adults from the Nauticus gym, Arequipa, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-27) Perez Chacon, Luz Delia; Cautín Martinez, Noemi EstherSedentarism and physical inactivity represent a current public health problem, as one in every four adults of working age does not engage in physical activity, leading to overweight and obesity and increasing the trend of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and others. In this context, it is crucial to understand aerobic capacity, as it reflects the cardiovascular health of an individual. Aerobic capacity is the ability of the body to function efficiently, perform sustained activities with minimal effort, without fatigue, and with rapid recovery. Aerobic exercises induce physiological changes where heart rate reflects the intensity of effort the heart must exert during exercise to meet the body's increased demands. With more training, the tolerance to effort and peripheral muscle strength increase, and their assessment predicts the level of cardiometabolic risk. This is also a fundamental determinant for setting permissible limits for activities such as pushing, pulling, and manual load handling, with the goal of preventing musculoskeletal disorders.Ítem Acceso abierto Aerobic capacity in adults of the church assemblies of god of Peru the good shepherd, Chimbote 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-05) Montañez Bazán, Angel Junior; Santos Lucio, Chero PisfilMethodology: The study followed a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design, and a descriptive cross-sectional model. The population was 100 adults, with a sample of 81 adults. An instrument called "Sit and Stand for 1 minute" (STST), which measures aerobic capacity, was used. The instrument has a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of (0.80 - 0.98). RESULTS: It was found that the aerobic capacity of the majority of participants was 70.4%, classified as "Very Poor", 28.4% as "Poor", and 1.2% as "Fair". Regarding sociodemographic data, the sample had an average age of 50.06 years with a standard deviation of 10.34 years. In terms of height, the average was 1.62 meters with a standard deviation of 0.08 meters, and for weight, the average was 66.58 kilograms with a standard deviation of 11.31 kg. CONCLUSION: It was concluded that the adults from the Assemblies of God Church of Peru El Buen Pastor are classified as having very poor aerobic capacity with 70.4%.Ítem Acceso abierto Anxiety and its relationship with physical activity in sedentary patients of a health center in Lima – Peru, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-24) Sanchez Juan, Omar Johan; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaAnxiety is a disorder that can be mitigated through physical activity. Sedentary patients who begin regular exercise can experience a significant reduction in anxiety symptoms. Physical activity releases endorphins, which are chemicals that improve mood and reduce stress. Additionally, exercise can serve as a healthy distraction from the worries and negative thoughts that contribute to anxiety.Ítem Acceso abierto Balance and activities of daily living in hemiplegic patients attending a National Hospital, Piura-2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-05) Paiva Llaque, Mónica Margarita; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyThe following research project aims to determine the relationship between balance and activities of daily living in hemiplegic patients.Materials and methods: The Barthel Index will be used to assess activities of daily living, and the Berg Balance Scale will be used to evaluate balance.Methodology: Hypothetical-deductive with a quantitative approach, applied type, cross-sectional, non-experimental design.Ítem Acceso abierto Balance and flexibility of the lower limbs in older adults in a Lima shelter, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-29) Rios Guerrero, Kely Erika; Vera Arriola, Juan AméricoIt is projected that by 2050, the number of older adults will increase exponentially, and a significant number will require interventions at all levels of healthcare. Muscle strength, load capacity, and flexibility decrease in older adults; for example, in Colombia, nearly 70% of older adults show a reduction in strength and flexibility. Another study in Peru showed similar figures, with more than 70% of older adults having reduced flexibility in the lower limbs.Ítem Acceso abierto Balance and gait performance in post-stroke adult hemiplegic patients evaluated at home, year 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-03) Velesville Velasquez, Ricardo Gianfranck; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioA hemiplegic patient after a stroke presents impaired balance and performance in walking long distances, which affects their functional performance. The assessment of these aspects during the rehabilitation process by specialists in Neurorehabilitation and related fields is important as they are considered predictive of functionality, allowing the establishment of work tools both in the clinical setting and at home. This study will use the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach. The type of research will be applied, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational. The study will be conducted with hemiplegic stroke patients, using the Berg Balance Scale and the 6-Minute Walk Test to assess balance and walking performance, respectively.Ítem Acceso abierto Balance system and daily living activities in older adults in a health center. Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-22) Puelles Villar, Sonia Amelia; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioThe title of the present research is "Balance System and Activities of Daily Living in Older Adults from a Health Center, Lima, 2023," which will take place at a health center in Surquillo. The duration will be six months, applying the hypothetical-deductive method under a quantitative research approach, applied type, using already conducted studies as references to investigate societal problems. The design is non-experimental because the variables will not be manipulated and correlational to understand the relationship between two variables in a particular context. It is a cross-sectional, observational study as it will take place at one moment. The research aims to determine the relationship between the balance system and daily living activities in older adults, with specific objectives to identify the balance system, daily living activities, and how each dimension of the balance system (anticipation, postural control, sensory orientation, dynamic gait) relates to daily living activities. Data will be collected through direct observation using a form, a survey, and two evaluation forms, the Mini Best Test for the balance system, and the Barthel Test for measuring the degree of daily living activities.Ítem Acceso abierto Balance system and quality of life in older adults attending a community mental health center, Arequipa, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-29) Del Carpio Moreno, Franshesca Vanessa; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyAging is a normal process for older adults, and they will undergo biological changes that can affect movement or the ability to perform activities. The knee joint plays a significant role in supporting the body and transmitting weight during static and dynamic activities. In children aged 6 to 8 years, knees position in excessive valgus, finding alignment at 8 to 10 years. If, at this stage, the knees receive increased tension and load due to overweight, they may deviate into excessive valgus due to body compensations for weight support and muscle fatigue, as sedentary behavior reduces muscle tone. The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between body mass index and knee deviations in the frontal plane in children aged 9 to 11 years from the Fe y Alegría educational institution in Comas, 2023. An observational, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with a sample of 166 students.Ítem Acceso abierto Body mass index and physical activity in high school students of the Gran Libertador Simón Bolívar School – Arequipa, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-03) Choquegonza Ccapa, Beatriz Sandra; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioThis research aims to "determine the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and physical activity in high school students." The study will involve 80 students aged 14 to 17, evaluating both BMI and physical activity (IPAQ) to verify the existing relationship between these variables. BMI affects not only older adults but is increasingly visible among high school students due to their notable physical inactivity. Therefore, it is important to understand how much this issue is affecting the student population. Material and Methods: A scale and tape measure will be used to assess the BMI, and a survey will be conducted to assess the level of physical activity. Methods: This study uses a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, applied type, and non-experimental correlational design.Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome and daytime sleepiness in Nurses of a National Hospital. It is essential to assess the current physical condition of this population, especially if training routines have been disrupted due to the pandemic. One alternative is measuring cardiorespiratory fitness through maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), as higher levels are associated with greater physical capacity and optimal athletic performance. Although university athletes present an acceptable level of cardiorespiratory fitness, it is low compared to professional levels, meaning they could be exposed to a higher risk of injury resulting from their daily practice, such as in individuals with joint hypermobility. Recent studies have found that athletes with hypermobility are three times more likely to injure their shoulders or knees compared to those without this condition. Based on these findings, it is essential to understand the implications of these variables in national university sports teams.Ítem Acceso abierto Caregiver musculoskeletal disorders and their relationship with disability in CEBE children San Bartolomé, Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-17) Oscco Espinoza, Lizbhet Katherine; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloySummary: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between musculoskeletal disorders in caregivers and disability in children at the CEBE San Bartolomé in 2022.
