Ítem Acceso abierto (Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-18) Simon Carlos, Blanca Yulissa; Huamani Caquiamarca, Yuliana EstherThis study aimed to determine the level of importance of the UPNW virtual library in the development of scientific research among dental students from the 8th to the 10th semester in Lima, 2023. The study was based on a quantitative, basic approach, using a non-experimental, analytical, observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive design. The sample consisted of 148 students from the aforementioned semesters, who completed a questionnaire. The results showed that there were no significant differences based on gender, while age and academic cycle revealed that as age and academic cycle increased, the perceived level of importance intensified. This was confirmed with a significance level lower than 5%, thus supporting the hypothesis related to these two variables. Additionally, it was found that students accessed the virtual library 4 to 5 times a day. The study concluded that the majority of respondents classified the importance of the UPNW virtual library as "Medium," indicating that they perceive it as a valuable resource, but not essential.Ítem Acceso abierto Academic motivation and study habits in adolescent students of a public educational centre in Callao(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-27) Alva Almeyda, Raphael Cristhians; Valencia Pecho, Diego IsmaelThis research aimed to test the relationship between academic motivation and study habits in 178 secondary education students from a public school in Callao. It was a basic research type, correlational level, non-experimental design, and adopted a hypothetical-deductive method. The Academic Motivation Scale (EMAV) by Gómez (2019) and the Revised Study Habits Inventory (CASM-85-R) by Vicuña (2005) were administered. The findings indicated that 32% (57) of students were in a negative trend level for study habits, while 33.1% (59) showed a low level of academic motivation. On the other hand, there was a highly significant and direct correlation between the study variables. The dimensions of academic motivation: interest, task/ability, and exams had a significant (p < .05) and highly significant (p < .01) correlation with study habits. It was concluded that, with higher academic motivation scores, study habits scores were proportionally higher in the analyzed sample.Ítem Acceso abierto Academic stress and academic procrastination in high school students of a private educational institution in Huaycán – 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-01) Aguilar Ruiz, Miluska Indira; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe objective of this research was to determine the relationship between academic stress and academic procrastination in secondary school students from a private institution in Huaycán – 2023. The study had a quantitative approach, basic type, correlational level, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design; the sample consisted of 121 secondary school students aged 12 to 17 years, who were administered the SISCO Inventory for academic stress and the Academic Procrastination Scale. Pearson's coefficient and Spearman's rho were used to test the hypotheses. The results showed a negative, significant, and low-level correlation between academic stress and academic procrastination in secondary school students from Huaycán (r=-0.234; p=0.010<0.05). This means that as academic stress levels increase, students are less likely to exhibit procrastinatory behaviors.Ítem Acceso abierto Attitude towards research in students from the eighth to the tenth cycle of dentistry of the Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-28) Veramendi Valverde, Marilyn Flor; Villacorta Molina, Mariela AntonietaThe purpose of this study was to determine the attitude towards research in students from the eighth to the tenth semester of Dentistry at Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2022. The statistical analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, which established percentage values. Results: Regarding perception, 71.8% of the respondents had an average perception of virtual teaching. Regarding the accessibility of services on the platform, 32.9% of students considered accessibility to be good, 37.6% considered the management of dynamic resources to be average, and 37.6% considered virtual development to be good. Additionally, 34.1% considered the student-teacher interaction to be average. An observational descriptive study was designed, including a sample of 268 students who responded to a survey in Google Forms format, sent via institutional email. The survey was divided into two sections: one for sociodemographic data and the second, a Likert scale with 5 response items to measure perceptions about the use of gamification. The scale was validated by expert judgment, with inter-rater agreement values greater than 0.7, indicating approval of the instrument. Reliability was also analyzed through internal consistency analysis, yielding a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.96 for the general perception. The results reveal a positive attitude (59.7%) towards the use of gamification, a significant relationship with age for both general perception and the dimensions of teaching activities, suitability, and development (p<0.05), while age was related to the dimensions of suitability and context (p<0.05). No relationship was found between perception and academic grade. It is concluded that the students have a positive attitude, with women showing a higher positive valuation for certain dimensions, while students aged 20 to 28 tend to perceive the benefits of applying gamified strategies in the university educational context.Ítem Acceso abierto Satisfaction between face-to-face education compared to the virtual/online education, in university students of the school professional academic of dentistry of the Private University Norbert Wiener, Lima – 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-24) Zamora Goicochea, Alicia Hermita; Céspedes Porras, JacquelineHigher education was affected in recent years by the COVID-19 pandemic, transitioning from traditional to virtual modalities. The degree of satisfaction students have regarding the service received is related to the sense of well-being they perceive in all educational processes. The objective of this research was to assess satisfaction between in-person education and virtual/online education among university students from the Academic Professional School of Dentistry at the Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima 2022. This study employed a quantitative, observational, and cross-sectional approach. A two-part questionnaire (Satisfaction with in-person education and Satisfaction with virtual education) was designed to measure four dimensions (informational, practical, communicative, and tutorial-evaluative). The instrument was validated by experts and a pilot study was conducted to measure reliability, resulting in a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.952 and 0.899 for both parts. The instrument was applied to 252 students, using a virtual (Google Form) and an in-person (printed questionnaire) version. Results showed that, regarding in-person education, 50% of the participants reported a high level of satisfaction, while the remaining 50% was distributed between low (26.6%) and medium (23.4%) levels of satisfaction.Ítem Acceso abierto Self-concept and academic performance in students of the professional dentistry course at Norbet Wiener University in times of covid-19: 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-11) Chipana Garcia, Sulma Katia; Gómez Carrión, Christian EstebanThe purpose of the research was to determine the correlation between self-concept and academic performance among dental students at Universidad Norbert Wiener during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study follows a descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The sample consisted of 70 students selected using simple random sampling. To analyze the self-concept variable, the AF5 Scale by García and Musitu was applied, and academic performance was measured through the students' weighted average. The results show that there is no significant direct relationship (r = 0.184) between self-concept and academic performance among dental students at UPNW, thus rejecting the research hypothesis. However, a moderate correlation was found in academic self-concept (0.444) and family self-concept (0.414), confirming the importance of these variables in academic performance.Ítem Acceso abierto Use of social networks and perception of electronic professionalism in dentistry students of a private university in Metropolitan Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-05) Salvatierra San Miguel, Sheyla Iomira; Marroquín García, Lorenzo EnriqueThe objective of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between the use of social media and the perception of electronic professionalism among dental students at a private university in Metropolitan Lima in 2023.
