La aplicación de estrategias de educación emocional en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de grado quinto de educación básica primaria de la Institución Educativa Técnica Sumapaz del Municipio de Melgar en el departamento del Tolima

This research is focused in to stablish a correlation between emotional development methodologies whit children and the impact they have in their academic performances. This research wants to favor the acquisition of scholar knowledges and promote the affective development through the understanding and the emotional management of own and other’s feelings. This study is almost experimental, it takes two groups of students from both sexes, their ages are around 9 and 12 years old, and they belong to fifth grade of elementary school. In one group, I applied some strategies for strengthen their emotional development, and in the other group, whit similar characteristics, I decided not to intervene the scenario with the purpose of make comparisons between these groups and analyze their academic achievement. As a method, I used an emotional intelligence test and an instrument for following the student’s academic performance. The results of this experiment evidenced that the group in which were applied emotional education strategies, conformed by 35 students, the 57,14 % got a superior academic performance and none student got the lowest level. It’s important to keep in mind that pre-test that it was applied, the same group got a 17,2% of low academic achievement and the 17,2% in high academic level, this shows up an evident improvement in their academic performance. The analytic verification of the results in both groups allows the acknowledgement of one important fact: the affective development have an influence in the student’s academic performance, and open up a road to strength a more integrate educational development of children.

This research aimed to determine the relationship between citizenship competencies and socially responsible behavior in police administration students at the General Francisco de Paula Santander School, Bogotá, Colombia. The method that followed the study was the hypothetical deductive in order to explain the results obtained against a series of hypotheses raised, a quantitative approach was adopted, nonexperimental design of cross-section, applied type and correlational level, The sample consisted of 119 students in the last year of studies to whom a questionnaire of 29 questions was applied to measure citizenship competencies and another of 25 questions to measure socially responsible behavior. As a result, the p-value was < 0.05 and the Rho= 0.692, which indicated that there is a direct and considerable relationship between citizenship competencies and socially responsible behavior. It was concluded that by developing favorably the citizenship skills of students, their socially responsible behavior will also improve.

In order to be able to enterder as it is the educative process and the development of the learning in students of different educative establishments it is necessary to recognize the social reality of being educated, all the times the problems of apprenticeship do not come from the classroom of classes but they have a genesis beyond which we can be imagined, the familiar difficulties the level economic partner, the form in which the students live, the time that the parents dedicate to him to their children and the educative level can be detonates for the low academic level of the young people present/display at present. It is important to know how the environment influences the educational process of the young people of the Madre Gabriela de San Martin Educational Institution determining how the socio-economic level of families, the family and social context have an impact within the process; For this, a qualitative research was carried out in which the observation played an important role to know the reality of the students in their pedagogical task, the surveys and the interview with them to identify the family and social context in which they go around. As a result we have that most young people have family problems, where households are surrounded by social conflicts such as gangs affecting school attendance, the relationship of parents or the little relationship affect the personality of young people, overcrowding, If some parents do not have a schooling level, they condition the learning process, generating a basic performance at the school level of young people. In conclusion we can say that the negative impact of these factors affect directly and indirectly the process of learning and teaching, all you can do is look and adjust strategies to help guide the curriculum and the curriculum to avoid directly and try to change the social reality of the community condition.

La familia y el contexto y su relación con el comportamiento disciplinario de los estudiantes de básica secundaria y media del colegio Isidro Caballero Delgado, Barrio Zapamanga Iii, del Municipio de Floridablanca, Santander, Colombia. 2015

This research had as it`s central objective determine the relation of the family and the social context with the students behavior of middle school and high scool from the Isidro Caballero Delgado school, Zapamanga 3 neighborhood, Floridablanca, department of Santander, Colombia, 2015, and by this by way determine and perform the actions in the educational institution that can modify the behavioral patterns to improve the coexistence of the students inside the school, with family and society. The investigation responds to a non-experimental study, correlational, descrptive level and quantitative approach, through a series of surveys made to the education community with a sample of 110 students, 30 were men and 37 were women, between 11 and 17 years old, they respond 17 questions free response and with options. The results were related with the family composition wich is one of the most important items, with digits as 25.82% students with separated parents, 8.95% with single parents and 7.46% with deceased parents. Also te 47.32% manifest not meet in family to dialogue about values, while the 60% claimed know people with active drug use. Results that added to the socioeconomic situations create a violent, aggresive and antisocial behavior of the students in the school. Finally it`s necesary from the institution consolidate programs focused in the process of coexistence and education, involving the family and community, also the presence of the Colombian state in this contexts or areas of low socioeconomic level, to accompany and guarantee fundamental rights such as education, life and decent work among others.
